Hot water pump light

My light stays constantly on, if I am in electric or gas power. It use to just flicker when turned on. Now after about 4 hours the red light comes on and stays at n. I believe that shouldn't be the case

Constant red light means it is not working, do you have hot water after the 4 hrs when the light comes on? it should flicker for a split second when first turned on and then you should not see a light if everything is happy.

It is not a pump, but the water fault light. It indicates proper function of the propane part of the water heater, and has nothing to do with the AC electrical heating element.

It should light briefly when the switch is turned on. Ons should be able to hear the burner click and ignite, then the light should go dark.

If the lamp stays on, the burner has failed to light and/or stay lit.

Are you out of propane?

Regards,

JD
