Sort of solo to Alaska

I will be doing my first solo trip in June...to Alaska. Got all the protective equipment--Yamaha generators, 2 spares for A/S, 2 spares for T/V, iphone, iPAD, air compressor, tools, saw, two GPS systems, computers, torque wrench, crossbar, three Roadside Assistance memberships (AAA, Camping World, Progressive), extra hitches/balls, maps, mileposts, etc.

I will be joining a caravan in Dawson Creek, BC....but have a month solo on the front end and two weeks solo on the return trip from Whitehorse, YT.

LOL! When you've been alone for most of your like, you're not lonely. I actually prefer solo, too. Although I do like people around sometimes, I'm not lonely if they are not.

I read somewhere that extroverts get energy from being around people, introverts deplete energy being around people.

Yeah, I experienced that, too. I worked up in Juneau in 1986 and, recently, in 2006. This is going to be my first experience via Airstream. Unfortunately, I was unable to join the A/S caravan, so I will be going with the Jayco RV club....

part way.....

I will be soloing this summer (except for my travel mate Nicklaus, my standard poodle navigator). I'll be leaving CA, on to Billing, N.D.,MN,WI,MI OH,IL and who knows on my way back to CA. Visiting many friends along the way. I know it's nice to be able to share a glass of wine but it's also very nice not to feel guilty about not stopping reading a good book when I don't feel like cooking dinner for someone <g>

Hi Benjisgal,
I hope you have a safe and wonderful trip! After looking at your laundry list I wonder how the settlers ever made it across our great country in a covered wagen? I to have much of what you discribed and would not leave home without it! Ha I guess 100 years from now that generation will ask the same questions of us.
Larry Madden on face book keep me up to date on you adventure.
God Speed

If you think you need it, you don't. If you think you might need it, you really don't. If you know you will need it, put it in a box for a year. If it's still in the box after a year, you don't need it. Get a Kindle or iPad for books, the iPad works for movies as well as being pretty good for internet access. If you don't want an iPad, get a notebook, and you can get Kindle for PC. If you don't read much, you don't even need a Kindle. If you like movies, toss the clamshell cases for the DVDs, and put the DVDs in a CD case. I have 320 DVDs in one, they take up a foot by six inch space.
For wardrobe, use pretty much two colors, and make sure everything you have will go with everything you want to wear. Plastic totes are your friends. Put your Winter stuff in them in Summer, and carry them in the bed of your truck, if you have a camper shell or tonnaeu cover. Put the Summer stuff in them for Winter.
