I saw a Touareg the other day-
When the guy turned the steering wheel some sort of cornering lamp came on- I thought that was cool-

Yeah, we had those on our '78 Coupe Deville with those auto signals.

BTW, m.hony, I looked at an AS yesterday like yours. Nice.

Is there any other way to hitch up than solo?

Hitching up solo how do you do it?

Is there anyone using solo hitch mirrors? I am looking at something In the thirty dollar range and these seem to hook either to the truck tailgate or the hitch itself - anyone use either and can provide feedback on either airstream hitch mounting - or tailgate mounting on an f150?

What do you think about these two options?

I use the first one you linked. It took a little fiddling the first couple of times to figure out the best place to put the magnetic base and how to aim the mirror to get it just right, but once I got the hang of that it's great for me. I hitched up yesterday in one shot, for example. I think the advantage over the tailgate-mounted one is that you have a target to shoot for when you're still far from the trailer, so there's less last-moment adjustment.

If you have flag pole holder pur. same size pole as flag pole or use pole that you have, pur.convex mirror fasten to pole, works same as what camping world sells

DKB --

Would you be willing to upload a photo close up of your hitch with the post secured in place -- my father and I are conversing as to if my hitch type on the Airstream is close enough to work correctly.

So many possible responses to that! But to avoid anything inflammatory, I'll leave it at, "…and give her back when you're done."

Ian

I will try to remember to take a photo on Sunday when I hitch up again.

Well, I remembered to take the photos but not to POST them. D'oh! I place the mirror where I can just barely see the coupler at the bottom of the mirror, but have a longer view of the approach path of the ball.

Straight-on view
