I’m in too! I am new to all of this and I’m also in Canada so I need friends LOL. I don’t presently own an Airstream but it is in my future and the more information and Pal Power I can get, the better. So, definitely, let’s do this!

I plan to head west in May or June. Have reservations in Tetons in Sept. Will be in hot springs in June. Will likely do region 3 rally in April and have signed up for alumaslider even though I don't have a slider...LOL. I would like to make it up to Mt. Rushmore and surrounding area too. I travel with my cat. Let me know if anyone else would like to meet at any or all mentioned. I also hope to meet Maggie when she's in SC in March.

Junk Gypsy , Welcome, I own a 1978 31' AS and I travel solo with my cat. I have been to Whitehorse YK, AL and 3 winters in LA. If I was buying another AS I would not buy one that was built after 2002, that's when the Airstream company in Jackson Center OH was bought by Thor, (they own many RV companies) There are older ones available that are in good shape or need very little work. I have even seen a few offered on Airstream Forum that are in BC. Also a short trailer is very hard to back up, get at leat a 27'! My 31' backs wherever I want it to go, and the bit of extra space inside is nice. Good luck and if I can answer any questions feel freel to ask! Never take your AS to a regular RV repair I learned the hard way $4000.00 and the repairs had to be redone!

Yourinformation regarding the purchase of Airstream by Thor is way off. This is from the Airstream website:
Airstream leadership had been in flux for years after the passing of Wally Byam, with control of the company changing hands several times in the next few decades. In 1980, stability came once again. Wade Thompson and Peter Orthwein, owners of Hi-Lo Trailers, saw the market starting to pick up and moved to form a new company, Thor Industries, and acquire Airstream. I think I will miss the international. It's the week of my oldest sons birthday so I usually visit him and it's a good time to be in Ohio.

As a single male nearing 50 I enjoy making new friends with similar interests. I also feel like there are a lot of white males (of which I'm one) that create a kind of weird ecosystem of limited experience. I would encourage a kind of diversifying. I know Austin, TX is full of Airstream lovers. I'd be onboard with this idea.

What about commenting on some places that everyone is interested in and see if we can put together a group meet up. I plan to be out west in tetons in September, but then plan to be back east by Oct 1 to begin caravan with "the loners on wheels" which is all solo travellers to go to their 50th anniversary camp out in new Mexico Oct. 27-30 then back toward the east coast. I'd be willing to try and meet new friends anywhere along the way.
