Hi Nelson, I'm only planning on one trip to Northern Ontario this summer to spend a week near Cochrane ,ON visiting relatives.
I'm planning on spending a lot of time polishing my AS and getting a few little things finished.
After my 7000 plus mile adventure last summer the road in MN and WI took a toll on my cupboard doors, am replacing the hinges with long piano hinges.
Plus a bit of sanding and painting here and there.
If all goes well I'm planning on heading South by November.
But you know the saying. "If you want to hear God laugh,,make plans".LOL

Hopefully the repairs will not be too difficult. Short trips are fun as well as the long ones. Good luck with the repairs. Our paths will cross again hopefully.

Hello all, Just wondering if any of you AS take part in the volunteer rebuilding projects that take place in many parts of the U.S and Canada.
The site for Habitat for Humanity RV Care-A-Vanners lists all the upcoming sites, I have been on build with other organizations and its a wonderful way to get to know people and its way better then just sitting around in a camp ground.
Plus most of them provide you with camping and hook ups for your RV.

Hey Bev, I have never, but, It's something I would like to try. I think it would be very rewarding to help others, plus as you say you get to meet lot's of other folks.

Nelson, yes it's a good way to learn more about the local people and customs.
I learned more about NOLA and its people working on sites for 3 months then I did in all the years I drove thru it.
Habitat signs you up for 2 weeks on a site.

Two weeks is not bad, I thought it was a lot longer commitment. A Two week commitment is very manageable.

Hi Good to hear from you , I tried to send you an answer to your private message but no luck.
I bought my AS about 14 years ago because the price was right and I didn't know anything except I wanted an AS !
I was a long haul truck driver and driver trainer for 30+ years and found the longer trailers are easier to back up, and are more stable on the road.
The most important thing is to get good at backing up, I got a 45.00 campsite for 20.00 last summer because it was a difficult back in and remember being a woman at the wheel someone is always watching

I've been retired for 5 years now so plan on spending time in Louisiana this fall and winter.
I have pulled my AS to Cordoba AL 2 yrs ago and did a 7000 mile round trip to Whitehorse YK last summer (that's where I met Nelson) so you never know where you'll meet new friends.
CA and AZ are the only states I haven't been to.
I hope whatever you decide works for you.

Hey Bev, i will retire on May 1st I'm counting the days, I will be somewhere in the Blue Ridge Mts. This summer, but if you come south for the winter, keep me posted, I will spend the winter somewhere warm. Hope to see you if you get this way for the winter season. Travel Safely and enjoy the summer. If time permits I'm gonna try and work a trip in to Alberta mid to late August.
