Everyone, we just joined WBCCI and had a GREAT time visiting Top of Georgia!!! ToG has a new facebook page, too. Please "like" the page and add your comments and photos! What a wonderful place! Thanks again, Aviator, for inviting us to the rally!

I'm planning on going to TOG in September. I called and talked to a member... she said it should have space available.

In the past the only time I found them full was during a rally, and then they go to rally parking which increases the number if spaces. Great place, friendly people. Jim

The Top of Georgia is a Great park. We love to spend as much time there as possible. We have never been there when there were not plenty of spaces available. There have been some recent changes. You no longer have to be a WBCCI member to camp at TOG. All Airstreams are welcome. If you are a WBCCI member and join as a member of the TOP (only $15/year) you can camp for only $10/night. If you are not a TOP member the fee is still a great price at only $15/night. The park has full hook ups (water, sewer, cable). Wi-Fi is now up and going. There are pavilions with swings in the park that everyone loves to gather. The main building has a library with books and games for everyone to enjoy. There is a small playground for the children. We are a short drive into Helen where you can shop or dine. The zip lines and tubing are popular in the summer. I have yet to find anyone that has visited go away disappointed. August 27th - Sept. 1st is our next Rally. If you don't have plans for the Labor Day holidays we would love to have you join us. Again, I do not think you will be disappointed.

Route from Hiawassee?
We are going to be at Falluminum and ToG would be a fun stop on the way back to FL. Google maps routes from Hiawassee to Helen via 17 but it looks like a pretty twisty ride over some mountain top on the way. How is that route for towing, or is there a better route?
Thanks,
Al

Not bad at all, my wife Janice is a scardie cat and she did OK! TOG is a great place to VEG see an Alpine village atmosphere in Helen, GA. Try it you'll like it!

Al, That road is pretty reasonable to drive. Slow as you and you will be fine. Three of us (Airstreams) drove it from TOG to Asheville, NC this Spring after the TOG rally in May. And we lived to talk about it, just kidding!!

We just spent the weekend there and went over to Hiawassee while we were there. Great park! Definitely stop in while you're at Falluminum and plan to camp sometime. It's definitely a nice place. The road between the two is curvy and mountainous, but not awful!

We are planning a short trip there right after the first of the new year. (2016) We are new AS owners so this will only be our 3rd little trip.

I spent thanksgiving there and it was great. Very nice people and convenient to get to. Bring coffee and foods as the closest grocery is about 20min from the site.
also, i don't have my trailer brakes working and TV is a FJ Cruiser- had no issues with stability or braking on the way up or back.

Howdy! as i mentioned:
had no issues with stability or braking on the way up or back.
Those roads are winding but not steep- safe driving and keeping it all under control very easy- it's a 22ft and under 3500lb even with my huge battery banks and upgrades on the ol '58, so it's a surprising safe pull for my short wheelbase FJ CRUISER.
My trip to TOG this thanksgiving was actually my first big trip with it...

Georgia requires trailer brakes if trailer is over 3000 pounds. With your tv I would not tow without brakes. Just my opinion. Please be safe and not sorry.

Good job! It's great at the top, wanted to be sure you can come back. Have a great time. Is Charlemagnes kingdom still open in Helen? Model railroad of Germany.
