I haven't been to Camp Dearborn yet but we are attending. Be sure to look us up. Maybe we will have our forum stickers by then, I should say we will. It is no more than an hour or so from where we live. I can't wait to see all the different trailers and styles on the concourse. We'll be in the section for non-vintage, at least the AS will be. I'll be about seeing all I can possibly see.

I am looking forward to seeing Doug Keister and picking up an autographed copy of Mobile Mansions! Of course I will not go a step without my camera in hand. All those vintage units will be so cool to see. I'll be looking for you Abe.

Hi Holly! I was there. Hubby and I had a fantastic time. We loved seeing all the different kinds of trailers and cars. Nice laid back group of all ages. Where were you parked? I saw several vintage Airstreams.

Fort Dearborn is a beautiful park. We definitely are going back next year.

By far my favorite was the Waysalot and the owner was charming. Got ideas from work campers and about interiors. Saw a lot of people we had met before. Lots of very cool modifications too, like a vintage refrigerator door mounted on a cabinet with a new fridge behind it, a microwave hidden behind a rolltop, an LCD and player folded up into a convertible center of beautiful cabinetry. The Peterbuilt tribute to truckers and the modification to living quarters was cool too. I liked the old trailers with the crank down windows.

Did you get a visit during open house from the people taking their parrot for a walk? That bird was awesome. It talks and even makes a little squeeze noise when you ask for a hug.

We were in site #65, which was across the street from the tent at the other end. We had a bright yellow striped awning on a '61 AS. I'm trying to picture where I saw new AS's, were you guys at the end of the water/electric area ( you would turn left as you enter the camping area)? Did you have your pooch along? We were the ones running around with the Jack Russell. He loves to go!

The park is really nice- this was our second trip. Are you going to go in the fall? Maybe we could join your caravan on the way (we live in OH).

My favorite trailer was the Holly (gee, I wonder why...), I had never seen one before. So now I am on a search. The Wayzalot is really cool. I really liked the Spartan interior that was on the left as soon as you pulled in. Everyone has really cool ideas- I always come home wanting to do everything over!

It really is a very inexpensive rally. We don't usually have to buy anything once we get there.

The fall rally is neat- everyone brings neat stuff for a flea market.

Yes that was us! We had our German Shepherd Baron with us and we were at the end of the water electric section. Caravanning to the fall rally would be fun, but short and sweet, as we are only an hour's drive North East of the park.

Gee, there weren't any Carol trailers.

The flea market sounds fun too. Perhaps we will get to meet more forum members next time. C'mon everybody. What do you say?

Here's a few pictures from the rally.

That's Doug Kiester on top of the truck. I really want to see the pictures he took, especially the group portrait.

Carol, the picture you posted with Doug on top of the car has my husband and I in it. It is really cracking me up! We are in the center of the picture sitting in the brown chairs- saluting???? What a riot!!

I am very anxious to see the photo of the group, too. I imagine it should be ready before long.

Too bad about the caravan(lucky that you live so close). We live about 5 hours south, down by the airstream factory. It would fun to see how many of us from the forum we could gather for the fall! Lets get on it.

Anybody interested in vintage trailers that live along the National Road( RT 40), they are currently in the middle of a vintage trailer caravan across the National road - east to west. They are due to be in Springfield Oh 6/7, I am not sure about thier schedule before and after that. There will be about 30 trailers.
