Given the newbie status of the folks trying to form a newbie club, allow me to suggest this:

Forget the club. Informal rallies might be best, something along the line of, "Hey, fellow newbies, let's get together at _____ State Park for _____ weekend. I'll be in site number _____ and there are still plenty of spaces available in the same loop. We will have a potluck Saturday evening, and bonfires each night at my trailer. RSVP in this thread if you can come." If you pick a venue that you like, it won't matter how many or how few takers you get, you'll still have fun. But the more, the merrier!

The KISS principle applies in all things newbie. Why make things more complicated for yourself than they already are?

I think you should do some character mapping, plot outlines, a pilot, proposal, and pitch this Reality Series to Netflix.

"Single Airstream Newbies - The First Rally"

Who wouldn't watch that!

Hey geekgrrl, just took delivery of my 23ft '75 Safari double tonight. It pays to be handy and just a little loco. But I think motivation will overcome any deficit. My girlfriend thinks I am crazy but she loves the shinny and tiny Pepe (we kept the name from the PO) too. I will be putting in new systems but hopefully w/o the gut job. We'll keep ya posted. Good luck and happy trails!

Well, everyone, another opportunity came up, and we are on our way to view another one 'mostly original' tomorrow! Wish me luck! It's a great deal, and I can't wait! I am not sure which model it is, as the add was just for an airstream, and the length is wrong for the offerings for the year, per the airstream specs on the site. It was written just as a 1972 32' Airstream. So I am guessing from the layout, that it is either the Ambassador or Sovereign Twin. You pros may know from a side shot:

West is my buckett list , LOL . Starting with east to fulfill prior obligations (As if airstreaming is a obligation ) in Jamestown Tennessee .

Please everyone post pics of the great places to stay . Also let know where to avoid . When I see a lovely pic here I mark the place down in a book as a " go see it " on my bucket list .

Same here! Haven't used my Bambi yet. First shake out at end of July. Did you find anyone to meet up with? I'll be wintering in FL but want to travel rest of year.

I'm at Kentucky Bourbon Festival but heading to Mammoth Cave National Park about 9/18. Anyone in the area? Heading to Shawnee National Forest next (southern Illinois). Anyone in the area?

Several Airstreams from the Southeastern Camping Unit are at White Acres Campground outside Bardstown attending the Bourbon Festival. Stop by.
