The club that isn't even a club

Maybe it sounds like a Sienfield episode, but there is a new club that is not even a club. It is the club that isn't a club but is. I wish I could claim to be the founder of this club but it was started by it's members. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I please introduce to you, The Airstreamer's Club. If you own an Airstream, you are in The Airstreamer's Club. The only requirement is that you own an Airstream product. The Airstreamer's Club has been in existence since 1931 and has members around the world. Dues is rather high initially but tends to be virtually non existent for many years at a time. The Airstreamer's Club has a President. He use to own two airstreams but he is now down to just one. We have many officers as any club does; there are some LT Cols, some Majors, some Captain, we even have a General or two. Instead of a single treasurer there are many. We have many secretaries too. Some members get together in large groups and attend rallies while others go off and enjoy their membership by themselves. One thing that is universal about The Airstreamer's Club is that many out there, not in The Airstreamer's Club, want to join. All of those members that were in the The Airstreamer's Club but had to leave regret no longer being members deeply and dream of someday joining again. I hope you all will join us soon at an event by The Airstreamer's Club.

See ya up (or down) the road....

It sounds like a cool club. It sounds like it is all military. I never was in the military. No restrictions and carefree is workable. I have worked with retired military in the school system and listen to all the stories of their careers. They have always had an ability to come up with some humourous stories. They used to make me laugh. I really enjoyed those guys.

When we bought our Airstream almost 4 years ago a friend commented that we really didn't buy an Airstream but joined a cult. Cults are controlling..... but sometimes I find that our Trade Wind demands to be 'hooked up' and taken somewhere. Have you noticed how we 'members' refer to our coaches as AS not trailers as most SOB owners do?

I was only pointing out the officers that are members in The Airsteamer's Club to make those use to a more traditional club feel comfortable. In The Airstreamer's Club we have all types of members. We have teachers, we have doctors, we have preachers, we even have sword swallowers. We have young families, families with grown kids, empty nesters, we even have some senior citizens. I think you have The Airstreamer's Club confused with the other club that focus on meetings, rules, and pomp when you say it sounds militaristic. The Airstreamer's Club is dedicated to the product not the people with the means to own them. In The Airstreamer's Club we use the serial number of the rig not the number of the person owning it, for it is about the tremendous product we own and not the other way around.

The more you own!

Does this mean that the more Airstreams (product) you own, the more of a say you have in this club?

Does the airstreamer club have a way to communicate to the other members? Personally I think this forum we are on is the best way to communicate information.

I checked out your sites you posted below. I like the airstream trailers you have and oh yes. Your Ford 9N tractor. I have to get one of those someday. I wish you guys were closer because I need a professional evaluation on the big basketball dent I have on top.

No, you can say what ever you like in The Airstreamer's Club. This is a free country and everyone is equal. Just because you have owned 19 does not give you special privilege. No gold row parking unless you paint the area where you park gold or go join a other club.

Yes Brian, this club has real clear means of communication. We use the internet both through private means and public such as right now. We also sometimes use the telephones (you probably saw my phone number on my website so feel free to communicate with me that way any time). Some of us use old fashion mail service. I wish I lived out west where some of our other members live. The sight distance is much further there and we could even use smoke signals there if we chose to. The Airstreamer's Club is really open to be used how ever you see fit.

Wow, This is a great way to begin 2010. A club for and about the owners who use and enjoy Airstream trailers and motorhomes.

This club has been around for a long time. No one has really realized it though. They were so busy focusing on the members and their numbers that they did not realize it was already in place. Get out there and enjoy your membership.

62Overlander:

You are pretty close to Washington D.C. I would like to pull my trailer to that neck of the woods. Where is a good, safe, park to camp? I would like to see the sights in Washington. Access to the public transportation would be cool also.

Lake Fairfax Park Campgrounds, Fairfax County Park Authority That is a real nice park. Easy to get to downtown where the museums are. You could spend a good deal of time seeing DC. Let me know when you are coming and perhaps I will bring my membership card to The Airstreamer's Club down and we can camp together.

This is fussy, I know, but "The Airstreamers' Club" seems more apt than "The Airstreamer's Club" given that this is a club for all rather than for one...

I am on the low initial up front cost, but many subsequent payment plan. When does this non existent dues start? Why do I have to pay my dues to the big orange store and the several online dues collectors?
