Closer to the coast we have Paul B. Johnson just south of Hattiesburg. Flint Creek Waterpark near Wiggins and Buccaneer State Park at Waveland. Flint Creek is my favorite for quick getaways. It is a beautiful park with record bass in the lake. Also along Red and Black Creeks are several Desoto National Forest minimum service campgrounds known as Landings that are nice for boondocking. They are free. Little Black Creek is a Federal campground just north of Gulfport that is very laid back and relaxing. It has electric and water and is very inexpensive especially with the Federal Access Pass. It is right on Black Creek. Great for swimming and cooling off during a hot summer. In Ocean Springs is Davis Bayou Campground. It is part of the Gulf Islands National Seashore. Also very inexpensive with the Access Pass. The park is very popular with fisherman, kayakers and snow birds. All of these parks would be excellent for informal rallies.

I have stayed at a nice state park at Liberty, MS and Crystal Springs, MS.
The Mississippi coast is full of nice campgrounds.

Those are all great campgrounds, but 4-5 hours away from me- not possible getting off work at 5 pm on a Friday-

My apologies for not seeing this thread sooner and getting in here. That's what I get for living off of the Airforums app on my tablet and not visiting via the web...you miss some things.

Yes! TAC has stickers. However, the sticker is just the TAC logo (trailers & decades on top of North America). In the past, a donation of $10 via the TAC website has been asked in return for a sticker sent to you. Anyone that displays their TAC number on their Airstream does it via their own free will. TAC does not send out number stickers.

There isn't a lot of TAC related stuff that circulates, so that's why things may seem slow. The last newsletter was in 2012. Since then, the newsletter has been converted to a blog. Being the one that updates the blog, I can say that there hasn't been much new there, either. I'm planning a year-end wrap-up post, though. I can say that membership growth has been constant at about 2-3 people per week. Not bad for a club with no organization, no dues, and no plans!

All this talk of a rally in MS, MO, AR area is getting me excited. Sounds like there needs to be a TAC rally planned (which as mentioned before means designating a campground and telling people about it). My family is already planning to be in Hot Springs, AR June 5-8 for the FoD rally. We have been thinking that we need to add something before or after that since we're driving all that way anyway. Would be great to have another rally to go to. We've been to MS before, but surely could go back. Never been to MO, would be great to check it off of the states-we've-visited list.

I might announce a rally nearly every weekend from March to December. We really go that often. Let's save the further away locations for long holiday weekends-

I know this is an old thread, but there are some interesting points here. Recently a new group has been formed, rvillage.com which provide one unique benefit. You can indicate where you are and you can then find out who is near you. If you aren't at an RV park you can just put in the city and state. There are a couple of Airstream groups there, so you can join some familiar names.

I've joined over there as it looks like they have some neat features to organize gatherings and impromptu meet-ups at campgrounds. More people need to join to make it effective, though. I made the same post over there as I did here (related to finding other families who travel and camp). At RVillage, I have 1 or 2 replies. Here at Airforums, there are 97 replies.

Jason, I must confess that I don't use RVillage as much as I ought. When we get to a new campground I change my location and see if anyone else is there. You are right, though, that there is more conversation on other forums than that one. I think it is really turning into a way to meet others face to face or to find others with a similar hobby.
