TAC - Take The High Road

To All TAC Members:

Now that TAC has been formed I believe that it is time for us to take the high road and stop bashing the WBCCI.

The two clubs have different purposes. One is a camping club (TAC) and the other is a caravan / retirement club (WBCCI). Many threads have stated what Airstreamers like or don't like about the WBCCI. Those of us in the WBCCI will determine whether the value of continuing our membership in the WBCCI is worth the dues.

Our energies as TAC members should be focused on making TAC a fun camping club. We have a "clean sheet of paper" as this club is starting from scratch. Let the WBCCI do its thing and don't focus on it. Our purpose shouldn't be that of being an anti-WBCCI club but it should be that of being the most fun Airstream camping club. Let's not expend our energies on what or what not the WBCCI is doing but on what we want TAC to be doing.

TAC offers us the opportunity to be in on the ground floor of something new and exciting involving our Airstreams. There is always more positive energy and satisfaction in creating something than in destroying something.

Let's take the high road.

Hard to argue with that, although I am sure someone will.

I don't know anything about the WBCCI, but I do agree with Bluebird.
TAC is of itself and not anything else. I am proud to be a member of TAC.
I love to camp, travel, meet new and different people who share a common interest;
camping, Airstreams, and being social.
OK I'll get off the soap box now

Well put Dave. I don't think anybody is "bashing" the WBCCI or any of it's constituent units although many postings have been highly critical (and in my opinion, justifiably so) of some of the actions of the WBCCI's highest level of management, the IBT.

On a personal level I would love to become a member of my local area Unit as I understand they are a great group of people but do not see any benefits to my joining the main club and finance the IBT's losses and "stipends" in the bargain. Besides there's nothing that says you can't be a member and support both clubs if that's what you want to do.

TAC is a new entity and hopefully will be devoid of all the political nonsense and posturing that is plaguing the original club. As far as I am concerned TAC can be a run as a "benevolent dictatorship" (with emphasis on the first word). It works.

Rob, Frank and the others who have declared their independence and set up this new organization are to be commended and supported in their efforts. I am very proud to be TAC VT-1 and am looking forward to participating in TAC activities as much as time will allow.

See you round the campfire.

Am looking forward to getting out to an event soon. Have to get the snow melted first. May take a while. It was -8 this morning!

I really think BlueBird is RITE, in fact I personally think that any mention of those 5 letters in any TAC thread are inappropriate. Let's do our own thing and let them do thiers and never the twain shall meet. I love this group all ready.

The instructions are in post number 16 in the following thread by ROBANDZOE
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f505/welcome-to-the-airstreamers-club-61427-2.html
Post 16 follows:
I was thinking just keeping it simple... and simple is good. Ok... thanks for all the web site support from everyone. Got lots to work on ... I'm busy traveling this week...
I need everyone that's joined to email me their name and address - with any info you want to include - just name, forums name, and state are required at this time, but if you want, feel free to include address or phone number... the info will stay with me and me only.
In the email subject, just put TAC - my email is AirstreamNut@gmail.com
This way I can put together a member listing. I'll reply back with your club ID.
Wait until you see the Club Logo!
Thanks,
Rob

Looking forward to having you become a TAC member.

Come on Bob jump on in here and get ya a number. Say goodbye to the dreaded 5 letters and begin anew with the 3 letters TAC. I have already seen TAC in action before it was TAC. AWESOME !

Hope to see ya somewhere this summer.

Thanks, Dave. We agree totally with you--Let's take the High Road. We just need to move forward with TAC and leave WBCCI to do what it chooses. We intend to have fun with Airstreamers wherever and whenever we can.

5 letters...3 letters...it's attitude!!! Mr Dave, I owe ya a beer or two...if the wind drops a bit, I'll light the campfire...come on over...
We're campin' with our friends, blessed(or could it be cursed?) with internet access in the middle of nowhere, and generally doing as little as possible as often as we can...not a life for the strivers...black water down/fresh water up is as active as I want to be...well, besides happy hour, potlucks, and all that 'walking' thing from trailer to trailer...still a bit conflicted on what to do with my money for 2011, but that's MY problem...meanwhile, I think I'll just TAC it up to good fortune...
