TAC September 2010 magazine

This is a half-way magazine - it's laid out nicely, but I want some feedback on it to make next month's mag even better

This is a temporary link - the mag'll be posted on the TAC website in the next day or so.

I went for "ok" quality photos and about a 557 kb file size - better quality photos make a 1.4 MB file and I don't know how big is acceptable since people have different speed connections. Do you think I should do two versions? Smaller for people on dialup or slow wifi, and a better version for people with broadband?

Dave, Awesome job on the newsletter!

Happy Trails!

Outstanding job!

We were away this past week with limited internet access but I did download the September newsletter from my lap top at a Library in Toccoa, Ga. and read it and were really pleased with all the informative information, we surely look forward to the future newsletters and contributions from members sharing there TAC experiences.
Thanks again for the great job you did putting the newsletter out for all of us to enjoy.

I just thought I'd update this thread to report that during September, the TAC magazine was downloaded 799 times by different sites. (This excludes search engines, multiple fetches from the same site, partial downloads that failed, etc)

This means more than half of readers are non-members. Or as I prefer to look at it, potential future members!

The September issue was a great; keep up the good work. BUT where is the October issue, or are they going to be bi, quarter or??
Is there an issue with the site? I know of a couple sending in their membership and NOT listed, but another whose membership went through immediately?

I took over the membership requests a few weeks ago. If I processed the request, they should have received a Welcome email that includes their TAC number. Have them PM me or send an email to If I find a problem, I will give the webmaster a heads up.
