Thank you to all who have served this Great Country. Take a moment to watch this rendition of our National Anthem sung by a Navy Veteran and say a prayer for those overseas. It is very creative, and the enthusiasm is infectious.

Had a great Vet Day. Went to the Aliante Casino for my free Breakfast and Dinner. Spent the day with my wife Suni just "chil'n" watching the old war movies .

Did this thread die? The last thing that I saw was retired Safari Rick? Which is dangerous to be Former LAPD and USN. I currently work for LA Port Police as an Emergency Mgr and retired from USAFR. 6 more to go with City.

Airstream used before deployment

I just spent a week out at Ft Hood (700 miles from home) thanks to a generous friend who pulled his Airstream out there. My Army partner and I were able to spend most of a week together before he deployed on the weekend for a 9 month stay in Afghanistan with no R & R.

I was able to drive his truck back and store his stuff at home instead of military storage. It is great to have good, supportive friends and staying in the Airstream was like being home!

Our son, who is in the Army, is getting married next month. He will be spending his honeymoon in our Argosy at a nearby lake. In the mean time it serves as his quarters when he is home on leave.

Memorial Day

Tomorrow is Memorial Day so let us not for get our Veterans and all those who have served in one capacity or another serving this Great County of ours. Especially our wounded warriors and those have given their lives to protect our freedom.

Indeed it is. As a veteran of 14 years and a spouse of an active duty service woman, tomorrow holds a special day in our home.

It isn't national BBQ day....it's to remember our veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

Memorial Day

I tried to post this with my last post but had brain freeze on how to do it

I recently attended a memorial service Honoring Glenn Doherty, USN SEAL. I video the folding of the American Flag with Taps in the background. To me this is what tomorrow is all about.

God bless these United States on this Memorial Day

To lots of folks on here, this is NOT just another day to BBQ and drink beer. It's for me and those others, the day that I put aside to honor those that I left behind on that patrol that put me in the hospital and disabled for the rest of my days. They are now on a wall in DC and in cemetaries scattered across this country. Yes, the one's with the white marble headstones. So to them and the millions of others that have given the ultimate sacrifice for THEIR country and MINE............Thank you......I know God has blessed YOU....Dennis

Fourth Cliff Recreation Center Hummarock Ma.

We just spent a week at Fourth Cliff an AF recreation Area in Hummarock, AKA Scituate MA. We stayed there two years ago in one of the houses this time we stayed in an RV slot. It has twelve RV sites with water, electrical and sewer. The beac at low tide is ideal for small children and the sunsets are magnificient. The down side is some of the sites are small and tough to get into and may be even more so if the erosion continues. The staff is friendlu and there is alot to do in thearea as it is close to Plymouth, Boston and the outer Cape.

Hey Dee. You're right there. The Air Force Acad. is one of my favorites.
If you've never been they have a great campground. It's hard to just pass through. Stop and stay a few

Volunteer Park - White Sands Missle Range

A great place to base when exploring Las Cruces, WSMR, White Sands National Monument, and Alamogordo. About an hour from El Paso, too.

Great views!

We've stayed at:
Offutt AFB
Fort Chaffee
Fort Meade
Cheatham Naval Annex

We enjoyed each one, but it helps to manage one's expectations. A cheap, safe place with quality hookups and pads trumps most other things for us. The campground is never the destination for us anyway.

Looking forward to adding more to the list.
