Linux is just one of the many flavors of Unix.. So.. Unix would be generic for a bunch of em. I work with probably 4 different versions of linux, also FreeBSD, Solaris, SunOS, OpenBSD, NetBSD, etc.. Used to do NeXT even. They're just tools, and depends on what the employers what me to use, is what I work with. Most of the commands are similar, and man pages are your friend.
I contract out and use what they want. I do miss the old days when there was only a few.. Personally on my own servers I still prefer FreeBSD and don't use any GUI.
