Hmmm, totally missed this thread. I am TX-1. I've been fortunate enough to be Internet buddies with Rob and Frank and Steve and John for quite some time now, and I was able to witness some of the discussion that led to the birth of TAC.

Rob is a great guy, and he is dead-serious about having fun.

I already have a 5-pole flag holder, and I love the idea of plaid letters. My family has Scottish heritage, so perhaps I can find out what my appropriate tartan would be and use that...

Yes, I dream a great deal. I was born a dreamer and will die one. I also believe in making ones dreams come true. I am hoping that people just move on and stop running down the club with Mr Byam's name in it. There is a group that likes that club just the way it is and they are actually entitled to have what they want too. We all have a chance to make something new that gives us what we want from our Airstream experience. Enough mud has been flug, let's all just move on and talk about axles or hitches again. Did I ever mention how much I love to polish using brand X?

Sounds like a great movie tag-line!
Or maybe we should use it for TAC

We could write scurrilously accurate but funny articles like:
  • Robert's Rules - would you like lemonade with that?
  • If we are proud of expelling Leo TWICE - why don't we tell everyone about it in the Blue Beret
  • We're ready to expel Leo Again - because we know we did it wrong
  • Lawsuit? We ARE the Law (Picture of IBT)
  • IBT Worship Service - Showing Bernie Madoff above the alter
  • IBT Pre-International Barbeque - Pigs seated at table wearing blue berets - eating spinach salad made of $100 bills
The devil made me do it.

My better Angel, with serious help from Overlander 62, is right. I really don't hate the WBCCI, I really don't resent the pomp and circumstance - though I think it's like icing on the cake - load it on too thick and it will turn your stomach. My gripe is with the financial mismanagement and the IBT's dictatorship. I'd keep my WBCCI membership in a heartbeat if those two vital changes were made, and I will continue to support the local and the CAMPING and fellowship.

I was reading the Blue Beret yesterday and came across the "letters to the editor" where Philip Terhorst actually got a letter published that criticized the elaborate flag ceremonies at the international... Don Clark responded with a - we'll consider it, but slowly carefully endlessly respecting hallowed tradition - reply. Surprised it ever got in there. Wonder how long before Mr. Terhorst gets the "consequences" in exchange for his "truth".

Let us hope instead that the ice is cracking and the long cold winter is ending.

Again sorry for spouting. My favorite prayer?
"Dear Lord give me patience... and give it to me RIGHT NOW!

Paula

I'm not a big fan of lime green for numbers. I'm thinking of international orange. The same color used for deer hunters clothing. You would recognize a brother TACer from a thousand yards away!!! If you want to camouflage your membership...use metallic silver numbers!!! LOL

BTW...Do we have any Brother Knights in the TAC? I'm a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

I will probably have no numbers or decals because life is busy and there's too much to do, so if you see a trailer with no identifying marks, it may be me, it may be Brian, it may be someone else.

Yes, I live down the road from Nyloboard. I really would like to do another trailer. I just saw a 57 airstream on craig list for 1200 dollars, and I looked at a 52 Spartan Royal Mansion for 900 dollars. Tempting!!!!!!!

But I am starting to build my pole building this summer and I just can't swing it. Nyloboard is some good stuff. I still have the scraps in my back yard from 2.5 years ago. Still like new.

Byam: We just sold the family cottage in Minoqua. I will miss the neck of the woods.

I am still SIU Bound. I will be there in a month. Maybe sooner. I added my wifes name to the forum and changed the forum name she liked because she help restore 50% of the airstream. She needs some recognition.

I still am going in disguise. No I am not going to paint my trailer camo. You will know me when you see the big love dent on top in the back of the airstream.

Still got the PO's #s on the rig...however, if you look carefully, in the early mornings after a get-together campfire, you will, perhaps, find me holding services as a disciple of the throbbing temples...or, I might just be snoring...
