I came in the Navy 7 years after this and actual pay was still low, yet many of us saved nearly every paycheck, or cash while at sea and left most of it "on the books". Of course a pack of cigarettes was 10 cents while room, board, and medical was 0.
So I have a question. How do you get to be a 4 Star General Officer (O10) with less than 6 months of service? Wish the Army had offered me that career track.
