Looks very good for its age, and it's a desirable model, with the rear bed. The seller talks openly about possible imperfections, such as the furnace.

Of course, we can't look under all that lovely wood to see how good a job he did on the new floor.

A good question might be "Did you do a complete off-frame restoration of the floor?" since he alludes to new sub-floor... Also, there is no mention of the axles, and on a '78 model, I think we can assume they need replacing. However, that wouldn't stop me, if the exterior is as nice as it appears to be.

Unless you can go inspect the trailer in person prior to purchase, I would probably steer clear. He's not bargain basement on the price, and at 6100 currently, his reserve isn't met. As Aage mentions, you have no idea of what "and new subfloor beneath" really means. That interior is just about all original and normally if you have that much renovation work done, most folks do some upgrades. And while the rear bedrooms are probably more popular than the rear baths, a 31' is not really a desirable model. The shorter 22, 25 and 27' trailers go for bigger bucks since they can be towed with smaller vehicles.

At the very least, I would ask some questions about what else was done to the trailer and see if he posts the responses. That might be a good indication of how honest the seller really is.

Thanks for the comments. The bid has jumped to over 8K so given the unknowns, I will pass.

Nice to have some experienced folks to help.
