1966 Avion 21ft on eBay - what do you think?

I'm looking for something to full-time and over-winter in. What do y'all think? My knowledge-base is Airstream not Avion so I need to do some research. Would $12,000 be an unreasonable offer? That's the very high end of what I can afford. Thanks!

Avions are well regarded. The add is well written and the pictures look good. The body looks straight and interior appointments seem to be there. That may or may not be a comfortable futon but could easily be replaced. If left in a sleeping position you would only have the dinette seating for sitting in or on. Is there enough room for your pet. I'm not sure what the item next to the stove is, (left under pantry)

Pictures hide a lot of imperfections that an eye can see.

Most people price slightly higher living some room for negotiation.

You can also ask a forum member to go take a look at it or find an inspector on the forum to go do an inspection.

Haven't seen your unit on ebay, but in my humble opinion, you could do better. If the price they are asking is the upper end of what you can afford, be wary... I bought a 1989 31' Excella a year and a half ago for $13.5k from my local craigslist. I got to see it in person. It was decent and ready to camp
in as it sat. I ended up upgrading tires/rims, larger a/c, etc. Have put about $5k into making it what I wanted. The point is, even a perfect trailer of that age will need upgrading, and that will cost $$$... I think Avions are a great trailer, but parts might be more difficult to find and expensive if needed... Just my thoughts, good luck and safe travels!!
