Johnny had his way with my door as well. 1958 fc. He also did his budget on a interior wall and tic tac toe and some other artwork in various places.

I have a cabinetry door panel from my 1954 Cruiser that was signed:
Kenneth Gray
Jackson Center, RI
July 25, 1953

Now, one has to wonder if Kenneth was trying out some Colombian Clover if he thought Jackson Center was in Rhode Island?? And, the July 1953 date must be a build date and the 1954 on my title must be a sale date?

If this is a hijack, I apologize.

Wonder if anyone still does...

They were proud of their work and wanted someone way down the road to know.

Bet there weren't any candy wrappers or Bic lighters like I found in ours.

This is too funny. I just took my door apart and found Johnny's exact script from 2/4/1959. We should really start a chapter of Johnny door Airstreams.

Gilbert,
Not sure if you need the whole assy...or just the cylinder and key, but the latter is listed on ebay out here in Valley Springs, CA.

I wonder if Don (can't recall his last name) in Jackson Center would remember him? Don is the guy that gives all the tours, and has been there over 50 years, which would put him starting around what, '62?

You never know...

Johnny was in California. Don was in Ohio. I doubt they knew each other. When I was there in 09 a older fella came by from the factory. He walked over to my 62 and said, "I bucked your trailer. It was his first year at the factory fresh out of school."

Add another member to this exclusive club. I am rebuilding a 59 Tradewind, and found Johnny's name in the door. When I googled it I came to this thread! It was dated 11-4-1958. About three weeks before I was born!
