What It's All About

Hello Everyone,

I've read many a post on here bashing this and that org. Maybe some of it is founded, maybe some of it is not.

But, I've obtained an old copy of Wally Byam's book, "Trailer Travel, Here and Abroad, the New Way to Adventurous Living." I recommend everyone on here get a copy of this book and read it.

I know Pee Wee has lived it. And that is awesome. But for those of us who haven't had the pleasure to actually caravan with Wally, this book is a great read.

At any rate, the point of my post comes from page 195 of the book. I quote:

"EACH TRIP HAS A SPECIAL GROUP OF PEOPLE AND A QUALITY OF ITS OWN. NOW THAT WE HAVE LONG SINCE LICKED THE TECHNICAL ARRANGEMENTS OF TRAVELING TOGETHER (note: this quote is 5 years after the first caravan and Wally has worked out the logistics of moving a big group of trailers from here to there) AND ARE WARMLY RECEIVED WHEREVER WE GO, WE CAN CONCENTRATE ON GETTING TO KNOW EACH OTHER AND THE INHABITANTS OF THE AREAS WE VISIT, LEARNING THINGS AND HAVING FUN. IN THE LAST ANALYSIS, THAT'S WHAT CARAVANNING IS FOR..."

That, my friends, sums it all up.

Take care, and I'll see you on the road.
