Tow Vehicle Distruibution Africa 1959, You asked for it!

The following information comes from a press release from Guerin, Johnstone, and Jeffries. The agency represented Airstream's advertising.

I made one correction we had 1 Land Rover, and not two. I also adjusted the International Harvesters up by one.

International Harvesters 31
Fords 2
Land Rovrs 1
Chervorlets 9
Dodge Power Wagon 1

That is a total of 44 vehicles. 41 tow vehicles, and the three aux units for the Scout Truck, Mechanics Truck and the Photographer.

I hope this stat will bring us all up to date.

There were 85 adults and 21 youngsters. The average age excluding the youngsters was 55.2 years.

The Caravanners came from 25 states.

There are not records of the models and years of the Airstreams. The fine eye of historians might be able to create a list from using a magnifying glass and fly-spec the available photographs from the African Caravan.
