It was across the street where the Interstates are. Wasn't a production unit either.

Say it ain't so....Airstream Nest!

While at the factory I had a chance to step into one of the first Nest off the line. Itís a far departure from the ideology of aluminum airfoil. The Nest is some alien counterpart to what I think of as in AirStream. It frankly reminded me of a glossy suppository. It felt stubbed and Ikeaísh with an in your face youthful boldness.
Unlike the Basecamps masculinity, the Nest is androgynous and will find its home in the younger genset. AS got it right for its intended market. Those of us who are blooming boomers can find a more refined comfort in our metal armor.

Iím curious what others think of this new family member.

Saw one at the LA dealership. I really like how the dinette hugs the wall, similar to the new Globetrotter. I think it will definitely appeal to the Casita/Fiberglass Trailer crowd...but for me personally too much white..like a hospital/sanitarium..

Trivia. On the golf carts, they didnít have a reverse gear but they did go backwards. The engine was stopped and restarted, BACKWARDS!!! Yup, maybe thatís why I did three at a time.

Carry on.

Thanks for the heads up, and welcome to the forum, Joannadannna!

FYI there is a more current Nest thread here:

Would love to see one in person.

Peter

I'd be curious how the Nest stacks up with an Oliver or a Casita, or a Scamp.
Especially, value vs. price.

Curious what the MSRP is for the Nest. Have prices been published?

New products are good for the industry and consumer. Fiberglass doesn’t appeal to everyone, but there is a large FG community. I look forward to seeing a Nest in person, it looks like it has some nice features. Some folks say Oliver is the Airstream of the Fiberglass community. That may not be valid any longer! Mike
