We've recently bought a Silver Streak Clipper and think we've probably got the oldest in the UK........can anybody confirm this??
From the research I've been able to do, SS Clippers were started in 1949 with Serial No. start at 2000 or 2001.
Known Year/Serial numbers are:
1954 = 2514
1953 = 2305
1952 = 2292
1951 = ????
1950 = 2070
1949 = 2035
Our Clipper is Serial No. 2004
Considering the above information, we think it's either the 3rd or 4th to be made.
We also have a
1954 Globetrotter Serial No. 2048 which is undergoing a serious rebuild.
Any information on either would be appreciated.
