How much is it worth?

Hey community, my dad is 89 years old and never uses his 1976 Bambi Airstream. He has had it stored for years and has taken it out only 2 times in the last 20 years. The Bambi is in really good shape and has all the original interior, pretty much flawless.
I talked him into allowing me to sell it for him. How much should I ask or expect to get for it? Any help on price or interested buyers would be appreciated.

THANK YOU

Welcoe to the forums.
I don't remember ever seeing a 1976 Bambi, can you post some pictures of it?

The smallest in 76 was a Globetrotter, see if it says that on the side of the trailer. Anything smaller may have been custom or you may have an older Bambi from the early 60's.

Post some pics and the serial number and you will get a lot of help from this forum. Once you decide on price, post it for sale in the Air Forums classifieds and you should find a buyer right away if it is one of the small trailers in good condition.

See if you can get it to be road and camp-worthy and then ask an outrageous price. It may surprise you as to its value.

Mid seventies trailers aren't worth as much as early sixties trailers. Short trailers seem to be worth more than the longer ones. There was no Bambi in 76, but there was a Globetrotter 21' single axle.

Price is dependent on condition. An original trailer in good condition is always a pleasant find. A 42 year old trailer will have some needs before it is really solid and reliable.

I suggest you start searching for comparables as advertised. I would guess a nice original 76 Globetrotter might not surprise at $15k asking price if it is ready to tow (tires, brakes, lights) and ready to camp (electrical, plumbing, appliances, soft goods) are in good condition.

But do your research first. My guess is worth nothing...

David
