Given that he was arrested in 1957, I doubt it.

Mathew McConaughey owns THREE Airstreams including a 2004 factory unit, a refurbished 1958, and a 2010 Timeless Airstream fully custom 34'. It is a stock Airstream body on a Timeless modifide chassis. The body is the only component that is stock and not fully handmade.

It occurred to me that this list of "famous/infamous" owners should probably also include Wally Byam. In my opinion, he qualifies.

Mark Harmon has a 1972 24 footer that he restored and uses on the set of his show NCIS.

I did some research about Ed Gein owning an Airstream....the only thing he owned was the 140 acre farm in Plainfield, WI he inherited from his mother, which burned down on 27 March 1957 and his car, a 1949 Ford sedan, which sold for $760 to Boniface "Bunny" Geiben, a carnival side-show operator from Depere, WI. The car still belongs to the Geibens and is located on a family farm.

Unless someone can produce a bill of sale with Gein's name on it, I seriously doubt that he ever owned an Airstream, given he was such a recluse.

This may have been at the time he was building a house in the Calistoga area. I was at the Martini house for dinner on my 40th b-day, and my (now ex)wife and I sat next to Sean and Robin Penn in the corner of a large diningroom. The entire time we were eating I could see people looking into the corner where we were. It was a bit unnerving. I see how it could be difficult dealing with that attention constantly.
I'll stick with anonymity.

I read somewhere (hell, could've been earlier in this thread) he moved into his Airstream temporarily after one of the Malibu wildfires drove him off his property.

I thought I heard that in ref to Matthew M.
Could be mistaken though. Time to defragment the harddrive(memory)

Can't believe I'm posting a link to a tawdry, sensationalist site full of garbage like TMZ... but here goes.

Penn's smoldering trailer

You can even see what's left of the Zip Dee.

I'd rather claim a bad memory than go there!
You're right though. That's a smoldering Pennstream.

If not for the ZipDee, I am not sure I could have ID'ed that as an Airstream!

Thanks for delving into the depths of TMZ, Brad....better you than me...
