I understand that it cost Airstream, $50,000.00 to have it taken down when they moved to the Cerritos plant.

And best of all, does anyone have a photo of the Airstream "for publicity" stunt they did by having a 17 foot hooked to the back of a 20 foot, hooked behind a 22 foot, hooked behind a 24 foot, hooked behind a 26 foot, hooked behind a 28 foot and finally hooked behind a 30 foot trailer, and all being towed by one truck, on the I-5 freeway?

Airstream got a ticket for doing that, since the overall length was "a little" longer than the state allowed.

And finally, does anyone have a photo of the trailers being plasticoated outside and immediately next to the I-5 freeway at the old Santa Fe Springs plant?

Dick Macintyre has many stories about that.

Andy
I'd really like to see those photo's too! Especially the trailer train.

Does anybody have them?

Thanks for the input, but I have seen a post by a member here with a '59 badge stamped Norwalk, so the question is not incorporation but when did the Airstream plant update it's badging with the Santa Fe Springs address? The switch must have happened between Jan '59 and Sept '59.

That paragraph would read like a "Penthouse letter" to someone with a fetish for rear separation issues.

1954 Jackson Center, the Elephants tail to trunk

A few years ago Fred Coldwell went to Jackson Center to do copy work. He sent me a disk with various pictures.

Here is at least one of the photographs of Airstream, to Airstream, to Airstream and on.

Sorry Pee Wee. That picture is porno in that it brings me joy and I want to look at it often.

I am so glad you were able to pull this pic out of your hat and post it. Thank you very much.

PeeWee,

Thanks, I think the front one is a 29' Liner, center bath - rear bedroom, with yet another street side window arrangement.

I Believe So

It looks like the center of town. There is only the one innersection with a traffic light.

The ad Airstream ever had was the sign on I-5, this was seen by millions and millions and more dirvers that you can shake a rivet at.
