Bolo Tie...

I have an old Bolo Tie from the "Caravan Club Specialties Company" of Roanoke, Virginia.

Anyone here know of the company and their history/association with the Airstream or WBCCI?

It looks like the one Pee Wee showed in his March 2008 post.

Your quote is a little off. It's supposed to go, when you learn by experience you get the test first and the lesson afterwards. Can you please fix this, it's driving me nuts.

Can i fix it?

I'm afraid not...It's my signature, it fits well within our community policies and I happen to like it the way it is.

I don't know who to credit originally. It's one of those sayings that has been around for years.

It was Ben Franklin who said "Experience keeps a hard school, but fools will learn in no other" before 1800. The one about experience giving the test first, and the lesson afterwards, I think dates to the 1970s.

I spoke with Dale about it and he says they were sold by Airstream during the 50's and 60' in the Wally Byam store and catalog.

I was planning to get my "Geek On" and wear it with a new Hawaiian shirt but this one is still in the original wrapper so I hate to use it. Guess it will stay in the desk drawer.

Now if we could get Michael D. to come up with a few Flamingo design shirts perhaps I could find one to match my stylish bowling shoes.....
