Africa 1959, various clippings and articles
I have posted a collection of clippings from the 1959 African Caravan. I have done so for those that have no access to information regarding next years Caravan to Africa.
This will give you some insight to what we faced in 1959 and the "big naysayer article" in one of the papers in Johannesburg, Transvaal, ZA
Please enjoy, I wish I had more clippings and articles. I believe this will give you a taste of the past, and light on the future.

Jim,
Don Christie and his wife Genevieve hailed from Carmel, IN. Don was a retired bank president. Maiden Form was doing advertising in the late 50's, not unlike this picture. However they were using female models. Don felt that he could always claim to have crossed the equator in his maiden form bra. In this case I might say he is very Groucho Marx.
In the DVD that has clips from the original African film, Genevieve is giving me a haircut.
To each his own.
Dale

PeeWee, I should of added a smilie. It is great to see someone having fun and the courage to get in the spirit, Mr. Christie could of not known he would bring a smile to someone's face so many years later. I glanced at the other items you posted and enjoyed them, as always I look forward to your posts and commentary. The Palm Springs Girls are beautiful, I enlarged the picture to get a better view. I had to do it quickly so the wife wouldn't catch me.

There has been two additional PDF's added to the African Clippings. There have been other updates to other sections.
Enjoy,
Pee Wee
