We travel with glass stemware wrapped in newpaper and kept in a big mixing bowl. Not a worry as far as breakage when traveling. Breakage while drinking, well.. that's different .

I think the trick to not breaking your glass stem wear is to never spend more than 99 cents per glass, Goodwill, Value-Village, etc. -Bernie

I use the Texas state parks frequently. We do keep the wine bottle out of sight, but I have never observed any well-behaved persons or groups bothered by the park personnel for using alcohol.

In fact, at our forum rally at Bastrop State Park each December, we always have a keg of locally produced beer. We have done this for the last four years or so without any problems. I think that the rule is to give the park personnel some leverage to get rid of troublemakers.

Making things as civilized and comfortable as possible is half the point of owning the most elegant travel trailer available, isn’t it? . Glass, of course. I do endure composite place settings, though.

We have polycarbonate wine, martini, on-the-rocks, collins, and margarita glasses. We don't want any accidental breaks no matter how many drinks!

At home, it's always glass, but that wasn't the question was it?

I carry two of those lovely, inexpensive, stemless wine glasses, which I use for all kinds of beverages, because they’re just a bit elegant.

I was also recently gifted a pink insulated tumbler in that same shape, which has been great for keeping drinks cold this past summer.

I also carry a supply of small disposables, for sharing a bottle...

Many things do well in plastic. Not wine, scotch, or coffee. We. Carry a couple of stemless glasses for wine (hers) and scotch (mine). And a couple of ceramic coffee mugs.

It’s not that hard to protect a few small glasses.

For utensils, we were going to buy some cheap stainless, but we inherited two sets of silver that we never ever used, so some of it went in the trailer. We eat with Grandma’s silver, off plastic plates from Target.

Riedel is Austrian crystal. It's what we take, packed in the original boxes. No breakage. We did switch to stemless wine tumblers to save on space.

Riedel now do stemless - think they're called O range....

Wine tumblers rock too - bought those after reading about red wine glasses.

The wine tumblers I bought are like the camping ones - totally unbreakable. Not as classy of course as my Riedel - but still functional...

You are right about Riedels though - they are delicate and as a result you've almost got to carry the box and be ever so fragile.

The question is do you love wine enough to bring the appropriate glass..
