I like the dry reds and my favorite is Jacob's Creek Shiraz. A good tawny port is nice on a cold evening.

The Mrs. likes the whites and blushes.

Every year we make a trip to the New York finger lakes and try to do a wine trail. We usually end up at Lake Seneca. Last year marked a first for us...we actually made it all the way around the lake .

We also found a very nice local winery while staying at Virginia Highland Haven Airstream Park called Chateau Morrisette. My uneducated palette found all their winds to be excellent.

How can you have a favourite...There's so many choices - so many wines to pair foods with. Just recently I ate sushi with sweet wines and was divine.

If I'm forced to pick - for the whites it's Riesling all day long - the crispness to it is just divine. Famous wine critic Jancis Robinson advocates Rieslings a lot - and once you try a few good ones you'll know why...

For red - totally depends on the food, and / or the company!!!!!

We are wine beginners despite our years of age. Our pallets tend to like like the sparkle of a fruity white Riesling or Moscato despite trying to branch out.

Costco, BevMo and Wine & More have plenty of good choices so we can't be the only ones that prefer our wine to taste a little more like fruit juice than a dry hard swallow.

Had a delightful white wine recently that I will look for again. Perfekt Reisling from Germany bottled by DR Loosen.

I have not looked extensively but of course when I try to Google it, it just keeps thinking I'm spelling "perfect" wrong.Click image for larger version

Wine, you say....how about wines.....
My favorite Chardonnay is by Cakebread.....my favorite Savignon Blanc is out of New Zealand, by Babbich. The Babbich can be found at Trader Joe's. The Cakebread at Bev Mo. I would never pour these into a plastic glass...only glass. I think it changes the taste. What fun to be in our Airstream to begin with and even more fun with a favorite wine!! CHEERS!!

That BOB WINE is from Whalebone winery in Paso Robles, we used to belong to their wine club. The owner, Bob started making wine in his garage and used to label it on duct tape as BOB WINE to impress his hunting buddies when they got together. On one hunt he had an accident and shot off some fingers requiring him to retire as a surgeon.
He makes great wine and has a fun winery to visit now on the west side of Paso Robles.
I think that's a Cabernet or blend of?

For those who live around the Willamete Valley, there are many fine choices to peruse. We have been wine club members of many local wineries, but our long time favorite for big Italian style reds has to be

https://www.terravinawines.com

If you are in the area and like big reds a stop at their tasting room is highly reccomended.
