...and I thought it a rose once a month to my wife was expensive! I gave her one each month for the first 8 or 9 years. It has been over 30 years from the last rose..........s'pose she has noticed? I think I will surprise her....with a GPS.

Of course... Champagne from FRANCE ( the name of Champagne is only authorised for sparkling wine made in this region of France... ).
My best souvenir in taste is the KRUG Champagne in "brut" version. very expensive now.
Just for you envy me , in a quater of an hour now, We're going to drink champagne for my "american wife" anniversary... 31....

Our favorite wines & an appertif

We like Kenwood, Sauvigion Blanc, great for sipping and not as heavy as a Chardonnay, which I prefer to blend with dinner. Trader Joes has some great buys and good wines which come from some super wineries around here. Castoro Winery in Paso Robles, Ca. distributes a lot of their wines to Trader Joes and it's very reasonable. Also, Wild Horse puts out some good ones.

On another note, if you like a heavier sort of before dinner appertiff, try "Lillet", it is lovely and has a higher alcohol content than a wine. We like the blanc, or white. It also comes in a rose. Imported from France.

Ofcourse they're all good!

Bruno,

Est-ce que ēa fait 31 ans que vous źtes mariés, ou est-ce que votre femme a 31 ans? Vous avez tous les deux l'air d'źtre trop jeunes pour avoir été mariés 31 ans.

Frédéric

For the English speaking folks, I'm just wondering if there was a mistranslation....in French anniversary can translate to birthday, so I asked if Bruno's wife was 31 or if they had been married 31 years, because they both look too young to have been married that long.

Hi Fred;
Your english is too much perfect to not been french , may be in another life...
Yes, it's the age of Leļla, my wife, my american wife as I'm pleased to say because in France, we 're not legally married at this moment... Always waiting the transcription from USA. We get married on March of this year by ... Harley Davidson Motor company. Incredible but that 's true.

Bruno,

Frederic

Translation: (don't want to be rude!)

I am American and French. My aunt Marcelle was a teacher and, thanks to her and my book "Bled" (the name of a grammer book), I speak both languages. My grammer isn't the best, but I think it's a bit better than some French people. I also understand Provencal (the old Southern French language closely related to Latin, Spanish and Italian...also referred to sometimes as Catalan), but it's been years since I've spoken it.

Hi freshair, I've just realised you though we were at our 31th years of marriage... we are just married and the cermony were organised by Harley Davidson... what an incredible story... we wanted just to be married at Daytona beach but circumstances have made us live really a dream story. If you don't know the story, have a look there:

We consider Dom Perignon to be a very good friend, every
now and then. A good zinfandel is nice with a steak. However, most of the time, Sam Adams will do nicely.

Forgive me for I have Zinned!!

Well everyone that has attended a Nor Cal Forum Rally lately is familiar with my 32' Excella "The Lodi Appellation Express".
I'm a Zin man- you all know that.
And I'll be pouring an assortment of Lodi Appellation wines at Lake San Antonio in late October-Compliments of Michael David Wineries - Lodi, Northern California.
Check out zinsoflodi.com for a great selection.
At the last rally at Casinni Ranch we poured wines from 4 of these top producers.
Enjoy whatever you like!

My favorite wine is anything someone else brings to the party

I like big dry reds and buttery whites, preferrably in large glasses.

Our favorite is Blue Moon reisling.
I may have come across better, better bouquet (whatever that is) or a better pedigree, But it was our first date whine. And the wine for several dates and a few anniverseries after that.
It must be native to the Willamette vally, because we could find it in Oregon, but sadly, not in Colorado.
(one of the reasons were already planning a trip to Oregon next summer)

Boons Strawberry Hill deserves honorable mention because, if someone brings Boons to a party, they're there to have fun without pretense.

I have a soft spot for Mad Dog 20/20 because, according to family legend, thats what got me started in this great world.

Even if I live in a "famous wine" country, I'm a bit fed up of the increasing prices for a bottle of french wine... So I've tried " foreign"( for me) red wine as yours in California, some Australian cabernet sauvignon wines, some Chilian wines, et cetera and I'm not disapointed at all. May be not so fine but the tastes are great and prices too.

Well, first of all I love Domain Drouhin. They started in France and then opened a winery in Wilamette Valley, OR. Very good Pino. I have had both the Oregon Nand French wines. Thanks to Jim & Nancy for telling us about that one at the Salem International. Bruno, if you ever get a hold of a bottle from them you will not be disappointed.
And then there is Old Ghost - old vine zinfandel. 2003 was a very good lear and a very taisty treat!

Redneck Wine Heaven

OK to be honest with you...this is what sits in my refer in my outdoor kitchen at home.

Can't get any better than a BOX (yes BOX ) of chillable red and a styrofoam cup on a Saturday Night at my house...sittin' by the pool swattin' mosquitos!
