Has anyone tried ice wine? Sip the tiniest little sip. Nectar Only for special occasions and icy, icy cold.

Our favorite is by far the 1986 Riserva Giuseppe Quintarelli Amarone della Valpolicella. Brooke and I first discovered it in Carmel, at Little Napoli Restaurant. It is the best tasting red your palette will ever sample, that is of course if you can stomach paying $336/bottle.

We regulary go through a couple of $500 bottles of wine per day so $336 seems like a bargain to us. NOT! Yikes! I could have bought a GPS with that money!

It was our wedding anniversary...we celebrate it every 28th of the month, and our 740iL already has GPS, as does our Ram 3500.

...and I thought it a rose once a month to my wife was expensive! I gave her one each month for the first 8 or 9 years. It has been over 30 years from the last rose..........s'pose she has noticed? I think I will surprise her....with a GPS.

Of course... Champagne from FRANCE ( the name of Champagne is only authorised for sparkling wine made in this region of France... ).
My best souvenir in taste is the KRUG Champagne in "brut" version. very expensive now.
Just for you envy me , in a quater of an hour now, We're going to drink champagne for my "american wife" anniversary... 31....

Our favorite wines & an appertif

We like Kenwood, Sauvigion Blanc, great for sipping and not as heavy as a Chardonnay, which I prefer to blend with dinner. Trader Joes has some great buys and good wines which come from some super wineries around here. Castoro Winery in Paso Robles, Ca. distributes a lot of their wines to Trader Joes and it's very reasonable. Also, Wild Horse puts out some good ones.

On another note, if you like a heavier sort of before dinner appertiff, try "Lillet", it is lovely and has a higher alcohol content than a wine. We like the blanc, or white. It also comes in a rose. Imported from France.

Ofcourse they're all good!

Bruno,

Est-ce que ça fait 31 ans que vous êtes mariés, ou est-ce que votre femme a 31 ans? Vous avez tous les deux l'air d'être trop jeunes pour avoir été mariés 31 ans.

Frédéric

For the English speaking folks, I'm just wondering if there was a mistranslation....in French anniversary can translate to birthday, so I asked if Bruno's wife was 31 or if they had been married 31 years, because they both look too young to have been married that long.

Hi Fred;
Your english is too much perfect to not been french , may be in another life...
Yes, it's the age of Leïla, my wife, my american wife as I'm pleased to say because in France, we 're not legally married at this moment... Always waiting the transcription from USA. We get married on March of this year by ... Harley Davidson Motor company. Incredible but that 's true.

bruno.

Bruno,

Frederic

Translation: (don't want to be rude!)

I am American and French. My aunt Marcelle was a teacher and, thanks to her and my book "Bled" (the name of a grammer book), I speak both languages. My grammer isn't the best, but I think it's a bit better than some French people. I also understand Provencal (the old Southern French language closely related to Latin, Spanish and Italian...also referred to sometimes as Catalan), but it's been years since I've spoken it.
