Beer Butt Chicken. (Actually, my wife substituted chardonnay for the beer ) and asparagus spears.

Because of the "Snowmaggedon" Blizzard, and the resulting three day power outage, we've been cooking with gas (outdoor grilling!) for the past three days.

Life is good.

Ro'tel, hummmmm sounds like a southern thing. What do you do with left over mac and cheese? Don't want to fry it like Alton Brown

Soaked pintos overnight and then put them in the crock pot with chopped onion, leftover ham=cubed, two cans of diced tomatoes, one bay leaf, dash of thyme, pepper and shot of Texas Pete. Left them in the crock pot on slow all day. Comfort food.

Lets hear it for Valentine's day. Go out or stay in? Sunday could be a all day event starting with breakfast.

Thanks to a friend in Ketchikan, Alaska, we had broiled halibut and jumbo prawns in a lemon dill sauce. (I forgot to cook the asparagus, but I don't think my family noticed we didn't have a vegetable.) Yum!

Dinner in the Airstream, Friday night, parked at Pillar Point to watch the Mavericks surf competition later today.

Roasted chicken, baked potatoes and fresh steamed peas. Tangerines from our neighbors' tree for dessert.

Last night it was baked ham, corn on the cob, and something that purported itself to be a sweet potato, but was like no sweet potato I've ever seen. Kind of a sickly yellow inside, and tasted like a a potato that was, well, kind of sweet but bland. I think, whatever it is, I'll take it off the menu for future dinners.
