Great Dinners.

Daughter #2 came home from college and cooked the last two nights. Last night it was Cornish Game Hens w/ cranberry dressing and zucchini. The night before it was Brazilian chicken w/ roasted potatoes and broccoli. It's wonderful to get up and have such delightful meals, however in my "rush" to get ready for work, I didn't think to get any photos. Wed. night I'm thinking of fried rice w/ shrimp, a fish filet of some sort, and veggie (I'm now off till after X-Mas- guess it's my turn to cook?). My wife and daughter are now on a mission to get our "infamous" fudge made for family & friends! One of the last few years we were up to 40 plus batches. Unbelievably we are still making fudge for teachers the girls had in elementary school! Awwww! Anyone want some?, after all, after that many batches, what's a few more? Merry Christmas everyone.

Terry, et al.

How about trailer-park fudge? It's made with Velveeta.

Hey Fly at Night:

That just sounds WRONG! I will look at it & let ya know.

Tonight I gave the girls the night off, and made grilled Tilapia, oven roasted Brussel Sprouts, and Rice Pilaf. Desert was sent over by the sweet neighbors. Coconut Pecan Cake w/ Cream Chease Frosting. To die for! It's our annual gift from them.

Fish looks a bit dry. You should have melted some Velveeta over it.

Did you say cheese?

On December 8th we went out on a proper date. "Dinner" and a movie.

Dinner was grilled cheese sandwiches from The Melt, https://themelt.com/

Murray had the fontina/provalone on garlic bread. Gemma had the brie with apple butter on white wheat. We shared a cup of creamy mushroom soup. Rounding it out; little bags of chips. Izze apple soda for Gemma, Diet Pepsi for Murray.

From a previous batch cooking spree. Homemade chicken enchilladas. Our last one. One more beef left, so I guess it will be back to some batch cooking and freezing.Good thing it is winter and we are winterized. Bad thing we won't be going anywhere soon. BOOHOO

Hey Fly: Well..., don't know...., It was marinated..., and only grilled a few minutes each side, seemed suculant & moist, flaky too, but after a few Polygamy Porters (Wasatch Brewing Co.) that we picked up while in Utah...., well, seemed it was just right. However I do love a well grilled Velveeta cheese melt sandwitch with some ham in it! Also enjoy mac & cheese w/ a little bacon & sauteed onions thrown in with a toasted bread crumb top!. Haven't decided on what's for dinner tonight!

Terry.

Christmas Eve

Last night we had grilled lamb chops and creamed spinach. With rice.

We had dinner early so we could do some baking. We made lots of gigantic gingerbread people to drop off in our neighborhood, and made a devils food cake with buttercream frosting for our nephew's Christmas birthday.

Images of dinner and a gigantic gingerbread man below. (Our house smells like gingerbread.)

We Forgot!

With all the excitement, we forgot to add;

"Merry Christmas Y'all"!

Starting with wine and cheese, then Grass fed bison prime rib, brusselsprouts with almonds, yukon gold mash potatoes, carrots, broccoli, Trader Joe's orange cranberry relish, and apple pie (from Bake and Broil http://www.yelp.com/biz/jongewaards-...oil-long-beach) with ice cream.

And of course, all the usual bourbon laced eggnog and See's candy.

Merry Christmas everyone!
