Paula...this is an old thread. There must be an awfull lot of leftovers out there by now. Say, how about the whole pig that Steve barbequed at your place last year. That was soooo good, Thanks. Tonight I have lamb chops on the bar-bee as I write this. Tomorrow (Fri) Lynn and I are driving to Oakland to celebrate my birthday (Sun) with our daughter, son in law and grandsons. It will be my 70th BD.
Neil...see you at Casini.

Robert Cross, you never had Girlscout Stew? My wife, a former Girlscout, introduced it to me. What it basicaly amount to is a couple of large cans of Campbell's Vegetable Beef Soup,a pound of fried ground beef, and what ever veggies people want to add. Throw in some seasonings, I like garlic and ground pepper. Let it simmer for an hour or more over an open fire and there you have it.

Reservations not required, all Streamers welcome anytime.

Note of caution: snow tires recommended at this time of year.

Let's see...

... home-made chili, burgers, chicken salad, green beans, baked beans with mandarin oranges, deviled eggs, salmon cakes, pasta salad, some truly amazing meat loaf, broccoli salad, potato salad, wine, watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumber/onion salad, birthday cake, and three flavors of ice cream.

Yep, it was pot luck at a mini Airstream rally.

Good times, good friends, good food, and beautiful trailers.

The two dishes -Chicken and Dumplins & Chicken and Biscuits- are similar, but with the first, the biscuit dough is cooked IN the gravy where in the second, the gravy is placed over the opened biscuit on the plate.

I use the same light biscuits for the shortcake, though there are many variations on this.

I do most of the "serious" cooking here because my wife of almost 39 years has developed early-onset dementia and can no longer do it.
