Monthaversary!

Hi there folks!

We're back! We both caught the most horrible flu. Gemma first - she lost her voice for almost a week. (Murray loved it!) And Murray is still getting over it. It's been almost a month since we got the first twinges of a sniffle.

But right before that we had dinner in Napa Valley, at Fish Story Napa River | sustainable seafood restaurant in Napa to celebrate our Monthaversary on March 23rd!

Gemma started with pappardelle with mushrooms and asparagus, Murray had a Little Gem lettuce and beet salad. Gemma had the scallops and pork belly with collard greens, Murray had the whole, grilled branzino with grilled asparagus and harissa cauliflower. For dessert, we shared a dish of butterscotch pudding.

We'll have more images to share and will try to catch up on what we've had for dinner because even though we were sick. we like to subscribe to the old addage, "Feed a Fever, Feed a Cold".

Bought a 3.5 quart enamelled cast iron Dutch Oven on sale at Canadian Tire so I thought I would make a pot of ratatouille. For the first time in years.

So I had a salad with Tuscan Italian dressing, Ratatouille with parmesan cheese and fresh grated black pepper and Focaccio bread.

Reason for posting, I like saying Ratatouille.

Ratatouille, ratatouille, ratatatouille

Hi Dee,
I went along to 'shoot' the scenery and fish caught by Steve, and was lucky to get the scenery as well as the 3 rainbows..he steamed 3 heads, and a half of one of them..served w/sauteed green onions/soy sauce and hot oil..pix on my member's photo, check it out (before being eaten)

First day on our Montana trip. Got to our first stop, What are we going to do for dinner. ? Oh, well, lets see?????? There is a restuarant in walking distance. OK, get there and there really is no restuarant. But they did have pizza - not so good, and cookies also not so good. But the martinis we made when got bake to the AS were good. Hopefully tomorrow we will have better success.

Hey, codybear, The pictures of the trout look fantastic, wish we had some. We went to O'Charlies, after surveying the Hail damage to our daughters new '10 corolla, doesn't look good. Hail stones about the size of golf balls, damaged roof, hood, trunk, & sides and put a "spider web" crack in front of the drivers windshield. The good news, didn't take out the windows like some of the other cars around her.

With 6 tornado's passing in the area (an F4, F1, F0, and the other three still being determined by FEMA) we had dinner on the fly (pun intended). One was within 1 mile of the house, pretty nerve racking! Since, have found interesting debris in the yard!

Dinner was Ham, Cheese, & Veggie pastry pockets, and a small fruit salad.

Monthaversary!

Gemma made dinner tonight!

Pork, tofu and eggplant in spicy garlic sauce. Kinda like Ma Po Tofu, except that Murray requested that the pork/tofu ratio be at least close to 1 to 1. Served over steamed white rice.

Monthaversary dessert: home made chocolate layer cake with bittersweet chocolate ganache glaze.
