Um, uh, just realized that you may not know which bacon and egg outfits we are referring to.

Behold the spectacle!

NO, They wouldn't take a little off the bill, they would probably either give you your meal for free, or make you guys stand outside on the corner for advertisement.

We should get our "Beer Can" costumes from last year out to you, and then the meal would be complete! (we went to Myrtle Beach with two other couples, and we all dressed up like a six pack of "schitz" beer)

Would like to get together with you guys sometime. We just spent 10 days on the road. Camped near Asheville NC (did alot of hiking, 10 zip-lines, Bridal Veil Falls, etc.), then camped in VA (hiking, riding the Virginia Creeper Trail, tracking down wild horses), had a great time! Now it's back to work !

Regards, Steelegood

Gemma's girlfriends want toast and hash brown costumes for next year. Not quite sure how we could load everyone up in the car if we had to get anywhere. Sure would be quite a sight.

And uh, who has beer with bacon and egg? Beer and cereal - yes. Beer with bacon and egg - we think not. Must be a southern thing.

If you have an image of your "six pack" we'd love to see it.

Your friends,

Our friend, Colleen, made tuna fish casserole last night. With crispy potato shoestrings! Yay!

Gemma's brother went deep-sea fishing last weekend so we had grilled rockfish for dinner last night. Grilled rockfish, sliced tomatoes and yes, that's right, rice!

Nutella on 12 grain toast for dessert.

Thanksgiving Early

We usually spend Thanksgiving with Murray's family in California's central valley. So every year, Gemma worries that someone will beat her to the turkey wings. In an effort to allay Gemma's anxiety, we usually have our own little Thanksgiving dinner either before or after the actual holiday.

Turkey was on sale - so Thanksgiving it is!

Last night we had a twenty pound roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, giblet gravy, brown sugar glazed sweet potatoes, cranberry and winter fruit chutney, green beans and an amazing apple pie that Murray made with Honey Crisp apples. Everything was made from scratch, with the exception of the heat and serve rolls and canned black olives - which some of our friends needed to make it feel like a real Thanksgiving.

Turkey soup to follow in the next few days.

Not Turkey 2.0

We got some fresh mussels yesterday, so mussels and not turkey for dinner last night.

Mussels steamed with chardonnay, shallots, garlic, olive oil and lemon. The mussels were great but the broth was just as amazing.

We're trying to post a jpeg image but it's so not happening. Gemma got a new iPhone after washing hers and it doesn't seem like the images are loading correctly on her laptop. We'll have to try it with the iPad.

What's everyone else is everyone having for dinner?

Greek Pizza from Antonio's Greek resturant! Does Gemma know that throwing the phone in the washer is not how you "wipe it clean?" or......, is it? LOL

Clarification

Oh, no. Gemma does a pretty bang up job on laundry - checking pockets and such.

Gemma washed her iPhone while washing dishes. Yup, sink full of water. Didn't notice it until oh, maybe three minutes later. She was a little heartsick, since less than three months earlier she left a five month old iPhone in the restroom of the San Francisco PetSmart. She and phones, well let's just say that it was probably a good thing that she was a regional sales manager at a major wireless carrier for a few years - since a phone in her hands has a usual life span of six months (and that's being generous).

This iPhone replacement thing is getting expensive and tiresome. Thank goodness the iPad is so much bigger - hopefully she won't just walk away from it or immerse it in a vessel containing any type of liquid. Wish her/us luck.

Thanks for telling us about dinner. Greek pizza - sounds good. Feta and olives!

No dinner for us tonight, at least not yet. Gemma was in meetings all day in some high rise in San Francisco and it was catered. So she had a cup of half and half with some coffee and three packets of sugar in the raw (she never has coffee but figured she would be sedentary for at least three hours before lunch so what harm could it do), a half slice each of pound cake, banana nut bread and some other sort of cinnamony nut bread, some grapes, mango nectar, half a turkey and swiss cheese croissant, and some peanut m & m's later in the afternoon. By the time Murray picked her up at 5:30 this afternoon, she was on a sugar high and coming down with a headache. Oh she was super chatty too. Super chatty. That's saying alot. Really.

Thumbs up Early Thanksgiving

Early Thanksgiving?

Well last year I wanted to "Brine" the bird, but Natalie wouldn't let me......, she was to afraid it might be to salty! Well, what-ta ya know, a week after.... I did....., and it was great! (Not to mention two thanksgivings back to back) I combined several "recipes" and adjusted to what I thought sounded good and roasted it. This year...., Yup! we're having two birds I'm envious, would love to have an iPad, but already have too much stuff on my "I think I need" list. As far as cell phones go, Gemma wouldn't make too much off us, we still have Krazors from......, Hum....., can't remember how long ago it's been.

Dinner With The Girls

Last night we had dinner with lots of ladies. Murray did most of the cooking - what a guy!

First on the menu: beef tenderloin tartare, with fleur de sel, fresh cracked black pepper, ground espelette chile peppers, shallots, scallions and capers.

Later we had Murray's fried chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, coleslaw with a creamy vanilla pineapple dressing, and Murray's caesar salad with homemade garlic parmesan croutons. Gemma boiled the potates, grated the carrots for the slaw and dressed it, and made the gravy. See, she can cook!

We had an apple pie for dessert but we never got to it.
