Cornish pastie washed down with Vernors ginger ale. The Cornish pastie was from growing up with my Cornish parents (Cornwall, England) and the Vernors is from growing up in Detroit. Lynn makes me pasties several at a time (freezes them for later). She learned how to make them from my mother...had to as a requirement to marry me. She does a great job even though she doesn't like them. Sometimes to keep the theme I will have instead of Vernors an English ale with it.
Neil.

I have boneless/skinless chicken thighs and breasts in the crockpot for another batch of my chicken and gravy. It's been just over a month, and what I froze up since the last batch is gone, gone, gone!

This time I may put it on mashed potatoes or rice pilaf instead of biscuits.

You might be a redneck... if you think a rice pilaf is an oriental stripper.

Dumplings... you need dumplings to make chicken and gravy a perfect meal. Trust me, your taste buds will be forever in your debt.

Paula, that sounds like something you would eat at a Rally!!
To celebrate the first cold rain I made a big pot of Pozole. Mexican dish of Pork shoulder (bone in) spices and hominy. WOW!

Fish chowder (haddock, clams, smoked cod...secret ingredient is dulse). Gotta love it!

Tomorrow is Pot Roast, looking forward to using left-overs to make roast beef hash.
