What kitchen appliance do you use (and would not leave home without)

Can you please tell me... the soon to be rookie.

What kitchen appliance do you use (and would not leave home without) in your AS?

Toaster?
Slowcooker, Crock-pot?
Coffeemaker?
Ricecooker?
Grill (George Foreman), Sandwich press?
Pressercooker?

And, just as important, where do you keep them?

Always my rule. Pack light. In the beginning I took everything! It gets old fast moving it all around. We take a stove top coffee pot, skillet, a deep pan.Oh a cookie sheet. A camp stove for pretty weather. We use our AS more like a hotel room. Just depends on your camping trip.

Smallcast iron mini pan for veggies when grilling

When cooking on the grill a small pan to saute onions peppers etc in a small bit of oil while cooking the main meal.

Like said before travel light -- I think everyone takes too much in the first year. If you do the prep first a home with unlimited water it helps so much.

Welcome and Happy and Safe travels.

I vote for the simple propane powered kitchen. Electric gizmos can be inconvenient. Standard pans aside, the pressure cooker is indispensable.

Disclosure: I do have an electric ice maker, my mom bought it for me, I love it, and it goes everywhere.

Almost None of the above.

As a boondocker we avoid anything that requires 120 volts. In fact we just removed the microwave as it was usually used for a bread box.

I agree with Rodney on the pressure cooker .

What size presser-cooker are we talking here (for 2 people)? My mother had a canning one.... it was huge.

Mine.... 9" dia X 6 1/2" high.

I have seen smaller ones.

Do you then leave the dutch oven (biggest pot) at home?

Dutch Ovens!! You may need more than one or two.
If it is just the wife and I, 1-- 8" and 1 10"
group of four to six adults (the above) + 12"
group of 6 to 10 adults and kids add another 10", and two more 12" one of which is a deep one.
anywhere from 25 to 50 #s charcoal

it is really hard to limit the number and size of the DOs, they really do seem to multiple just a hair slower than rabbits.

The 120V compact blender I found at Wallymart. It's an essential piece of equipment for camping in the Keys.

TOASTER - stove top or grill top (love the taste)
PRESSURE COOKERS - 2 stainless steel, 6qt. & 2qt (double as saucepans)- Revere
COFFEEMAKER - Stove Top Stainless Steel - goes on stove or grill - great coffee the old percolator way - West Bend
DO - Benedes - Big - use it a lot - for all kinds of things.
RICE COOKER = Pressure cookers
GRILL - stovetop inside - La Cruset - heavy but wonderful. Use it inside on the stove or outside on a fire -
HALF SIZE COOKIE SHEET - 'tis a great thing.

Pans nest somewhat.....lids sit in a rack that is fastened down. Coffee pot ends up staying out.......use it LOTS!!

Must haves are: coffee pot, both stove top and electric. Toaster same. Hubby must have his breakfast. Have a slow pot which is nice for when you have hookups. Also have a microwave that we have used - once in two years. Also carry a George Forman, which came in handy when we had planned on a BBQ - but had rain - so we took dinner inside. (Watch out though, it set the smoke alarm off) Am considering a pressure cooker. The usual nesting pots and pans. Cookie sheet and pizza stone. Most likely have way too much and as we spend more time in the trailer (retirement-yeah) will rethink what we carry. Susan

I have a portable ice maker at home, but Mr says we can't take it. I think it would be a great addition. Any thoughts?

I am surprised to see how many people list a pressure cooker...
What does everyone make in it?
