Cuisinart makes a 4 cup stainless coffee maker.

We saw that 4 cup Cuisinart at the Lebanon TN Premium Outlet Mall in one of those Kitchen stores. If we didn't already have the same Cusinart "big" coffeemaker with stainless steel carafe that Brian posted above, I would consider getting the smaller one. The only drawback is that we like big cups of coffee and the 4 cup ones barely make two big cups of coffee.

We have found that with the 10 cup Cuisinart that it travels well even with coffee in it. It sure is nice to set up Lucy and be able to nuke a nice cup of coffee.

Brian

We like ours but are always at a loss as to where it should ride and be stored. right now its in a cardboard box in the bottom of my half of the double wardrobe. I like the eyehook and bungee solution but not sure whether Olga will let me put a hole in the wall of Thumper. wonder if a commandstrip would be strong enough to hold a bungee.

I don't know if French Presses are considered cute or not...but we own approximately 9 coffee makers. Of all of those, the French Press makes the best coffee. One of our really old perculators makes the 2nd best...and another one of the other old perc's keeps it hotter. None of our drips are near as good. The French Press takes half as much Duncan Donuts coffee in order to make what we consider the perfect coffee as does our drips. The key on the French Press makers is to have a good thermos. We use a small stainless one from Costco. We pour up some coffee and put the rest in the vacuum thermos. It stays hot and "just brewed" flavor for hours. The French Presses are super easy to use, require no filters and make consistantly good coffee. You can buy a good one from Amazon for less than 25.00. We were vacationing at a friend's house the first time we were introduced to French Presses and bought one as soon as we got home. For those of you that like shiny silver things, they make a really cool double wall stainless one at Amazon that eliminates having to transfer to thermos. I wish we had gotten that one as it would be one less thing in our small Caravel.

Thanks, G

Just noticed you are from Santa Rosa beach.......awwwwww, my favorite place in the whole wide world.......

As for a coffee maker, I use the Bonavita Thermal Drip coffeemaker. Can't say that it is cute, but it makes great coffee.

We use a Chemex when off 110v and a silver Mini K10 Kuerig when powered up.

Eye of the beholder. Personally, I wouldn't know cute if it bit me. But then again, anything that bites me isn't cute!

Rule of thumb, if you think something is cute, and you show it to someone else and they also think it's cute, then it must be cute. Majority rules.

We really, really like our Espro french press. Look up by brand -- they are not cute .... rather they are gorgeous, sleek, and look like an international ccd should have in it.

At home, I use a classic small stainless espresso pot. Messier to clean perhaps, but suffices for 1 or 2 espresso/cappuccino lovers. Alone, without a stove top pot, I would improvise using cheap, easily available basket type circular paper and a mug: I spread out the paper, refold it as a filter cone, open the cone insert in mug and refold the paper above the rim down around the circumference. Add coffee to cone, heat water and pour over, taking care that the coffee inside does not rise much above the cone/coffee. This will hold in my experience long enough to brew. Finally gather the filter cone around the lip, drain and toss. All you have left is about a half a mug of strong coffee, that may be used as is, or diluted with a bit of hot water to desired strength.

I'm with Truckasaurus...Nespresso Pixie is the cutest...and produces great coffee! If you're more inclined towards larger cups of coffee, go with Chemex... It's classy, retro, and the best!

A small 4 cup mr coffee when we have electric.
Metal percolator for the stove when only propane. Use it in the campfire as well.

Functional, sturdy and looks great in an airstream. Is it cute? You decide.

Personally, I don't know if it's cute; I'm not one to judge that.

But speaking as a former engineer, functional and sturdy is all that matters to me. After all, I don't plan to sit there and admire it when I'm not using it!
