Smooth or Chunky?
OK a quick Thanksgiving poll...
When it comes to cranberry sauce do you prefer the chunky bits of tart goodness or the smooth jelly stuff.
As a Foodie I prefer the homemade chunky kind. With that being said the kid in me likes the farty slurping sounds the jelly kind makes. I also think the ridges the can makes adds something special too!

Chunky(fresh) when it comes to cranberry but SMOOTH when it comes to peanut butter. Chunky?? Please, you've got to be kidding.

Why not have some of each? I agree about adding orange rind to the homemade kind, really does something to the taste.
I think I was a teenager before I knew you could get the berries and do it yourself. Either way it's an undervalued complementary fruit/jelly. Lamb, duck, or any game meat is enhanced by it.
BTW, try either on a bagel with cream cheese. YUM!

Whole berry, always.
Last year I made my own for the first time. Surprised me how much better it tastes than the canned. Recipe couldn't be simpler: Cranberries, water, sugar, boil for a few minutes. Your guests will be in awe, who makes home made cranberry sauce, Martha Stewart?

We had homemade today and found out it is a prefered topping for vanilla ice cream. Will check that out when temps get a little higher. Too cold for ice cream right now.

Chunky here too. I make ours, as well as finely grated orange rind, I use orange juice.......I also add diced walnuts. Very tasty!
