We have had many requests for Sherri's cookbook. Her cook book is a collection of collected and original recipes and electronic versions of it have been circulated on a CD via US mail and various forum members have hosted electronic versions of it over the years but as website come and go so does the e-version. You can read about how it came to be here.

After the latest request I asked for a copy of the file to post on the forum so that all could enjoy her creative cooking. The file however is actually over 1,000 .txt files and not really in postable format; each file will have to be reformatted. Sherri had broken these up by subject matter and so in my free tie I'll try to get each section up.

Here's the first installment as a pdf - the beef section with a cover page added, there is no index and these are as I received them save for the addition of some basic formatting. I am astonished at the volume of this collection and the care and pride Sherri must have lavished on these.

Thanks to everyone who worked to keep the collection available and please be patient as we slowly get these uploaded section by section.

Just thought I'd bump this thread for some newbies to read. The more I look at what you've done with the first section, the more I greatly appreciate it. Thank you very much for keeping Sherri's memory alive; she would be embarassed, of course, but that was her nature.

As you come out with new sections, I'll be adding them to a 3-ring binder, which I'll give to Renee, when she gets old enough (she's 11 now)...it would be a neat wedding gift for her.

It'll be four years this coming Monday....

Thanks Janet. One of the first threads I read when I first started reading the Airforums was the thread about Sherry's Cookbook. Someone posted they had a zip file then, but I've never known how to deal with that. So, one chapter at a time is very much appreciated.

Frederic,

Eleven is plenty old enough to start learning to cook. Renee will appreciate the cookbook even more if she grows up with the recipes as a part of her everyday life.

Speaking of bumping. I was looking on my computer for a different bread recipe. Search turned up some in Sherri's Cookbook. I keep coming back to it no matter what I am looking for.

Bumping this one up again. I'm sort of a newbie, and just came across the threads re: Sherri, I cried as though I knew her too. I'd love to have a copy of her cookbook, and I'd certainly tell all as they share in the wonderful dishes where they came from and what I know about Sherri -- and offer a copy for them as well.

Janet, I realize it takes time, but are you still planning to place anymore chapters on this thread?

I might suggest that you look at opening a free dropbox account, uploading the pdf of the cookbook there and then you can just forward the link to anyone who wants it and they can download it to their computer. That way large file doesnt have to be broken up to be emailed, unless of course you just want to do it one chapter at a time. You can upload up to 2 gigabytes of information free.

Hi. I just saw that this thread was brought up again. I know someone offered to send the cookbook file to me, but I think something must have happened because I didn't receive it.

Whenever this is figured out and someone has time, I really like to have a copy.

Glad you like the cookbook. In the ten years it took Sherri to put it together, I was lucky enough to taste every single recipe.

There are a couple recipes in there that I added, to keep the cookbook going, recipes I thought Sherri would have liked.

i went to get the link for a friend and i see the site where it was posted was closed down by the feds. does anyone have it stored somewhere. i have the zipped and unzipped files but was hoping it was stored somewhere.

the thread needed a bump anyway :-)
