Insert multiple .txt files to Word

Open word to a blank document, on the Inset drop down choose "File"
Change the extension to "All Files"
Open the directory you want to insert, highlight one file, then press CTRL A
(or highlight the ones you wnat to add by holding the CTRL key and click on the files one at a time)
Then choose "Insert" This will import all the files. Just repeat the steps with any other files you want to add.
Did that make sense?

Oh! So you did an en masse insert...I was just wondering how 3000 recipes (according to Bjoern...I've never counted them) could fit onto only several hundred pages. I understand now.

Copyrights???

I don't want to rain on anybody's plans but I would like to caution any effort in producing a book or CD, etc... that there may be some copyright concerns in doing that.

I was working on putting these up on the web in a searchable platform when I discovered a few of the recipes listed on the web with copyright notices from the original publications. What that means basically is that to publish the recipes requires permission from the original author/publications for those recipes that were collected but not authored by Sherri.

Home use is fine for all of this but please be careful about putting this out as any king of electronic media or publication without looking into it a little more.

Like I said I don't want to upset anybody's efforts and do not want to offend anybody but I just don't want to see one of my Airstream family members get any heat while trying to do a good thing.

Well said, Buttercup. This is another reason why I would rather the cookbook just get passed to family and friends. I'm pretty sure that I did point out in one of my earlier posts that Sherri had gotten some of these recipes from the net. Of course there is a way, though I deem it slightly unethical, to get around the whole copyright thing......simply change the amounts of some of the ingredients and the recipe is now yours...give it a new title too, after all how many recipes do you think there are for meatloaf floating around in cookbooks with the exact same ingredients? But I digress....enjoy the cookbook and give it to whomever you want.

Thank you for the great cookbook!

I just got my copy of Sherri's great work! Wonderful! I am sure that I will be able to use lots of them. That was a lot of work. I appreciate it.

Lou,

She enjoyed putting it together and trying them even more...it was her hobby. I'm glad you enjoy it.

Sherri's cookbook

I just received a copy of Sherri's cookbook, and wanted to thank FlamingoKid & Frederick for sharing. What a lovely tribute.

Just an update on Sherri's Cookbook distro....it made its way to Australia today. By the way, tomorrow is Sherri's memorial service at Fort Meade, which happens to coincide with our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Hey Frederic -- We're with you! As each of us are deeply committed in our own lives, it has been very real following you through your heartbreak and victory of having found such a soulmate. I'll be with you at campfires this next week!

Peace, Bob

Hey all, just thought I'd update the thread. I'm still working out the best route for Sherri's Cookbook Caravan. I do know that it will start on Wednesday, March 8th (Sherri's Birthday), but I haven't decided on whether to end on Sunday, March 26th or Sunday, April 2nd. Also, in order to put RaChelle's super cool program to use, I need to know who will be willing to participate in the caravan, both those who are going to go the whole way and those who will be following for a part of it. Email me your info, so I can punch it into the program and get my route. England.....that is so cool Aaron. Bob, thanks for the kind words.

I have been very touched by this thread. It amazes me as I age and hopefully mature how much closer to the surface my emotions have become. Frederic, you are a much stronger person than I, my heart goes out to you and your family. It is such a wonderful trubute to Sherri the sharing of her cookbook. If someone would email a copy to igor@outlawnet.com I would be eternally grateful. Frederick, thank you for sharing Sherri's story with us and on your service to this country.
