RaChelle,

When I had my SOB, I took it with me to Arizona for school...this was in December/January of 2003/2004. I took I-70 and found campgrounds along the way that were still open....KOA's...figured I'd put that membership to good use. I'm not too worried about finding a place, and if worse comes to worse, I can boondock in my soon to be new Sovereign. Of course, I also need to take my traveling companions' wishes into consideration too. Glad to see that Sherri's Cookbook is traveling around the world.

Fredric,
I know you mentioned the Grand Canyon, the south rim is open all year. The campgrounds are open also. The average wheather for mid March is lower 50's during the day to mid 20's at night. The rim is near 7000 feet and they will get some of that white stuff (been in Phoenix too long to remember!). The north rim is closed untill May / April and is not a good location for many large trailers. It is a great place to visit.

If I might suggest, you have forum members (myself included) that would be honored to join you for a part of the trip. You will need to nail down dates and locations so that we can meet. Why not start another thread (or use this one) and build a trip plan. I am sure members will make suggestions as to where to stay at the different locations. People who would be meeting up with you could provide locations and times based upon your plan. Cell phone numbers could be exchanged for contact while on the road.

Richard,

That's an excellent idea. I'd like to know what a realistic daily mileage goal would be, given a loaded Sovereign and two kids. That way, I can start planning my trip. Of course, a lot revolves around who is interested in participating....I would need their locations, so I can punch this info into the nifty TL Directory program RaChelle gave me. My phone number is 410-688-7574...it's my cell, so if I'm not there, just leave me a message, and I'll get back to you ASAP.

Caravan

We live in Costa Mesa (southern California between San Diego and LA). We'd love to participte for at least a few days, Big Sur is one of our favorites as well.
FYI: A few people can always plug in in front of our studio (industrial area) on their way to or from. Just 15 min. to the beach and 20 min. to Disneyland.

Question How you doin'?

Say Frederic -- Do I remember that you were going to be picking up your Sovereign after some significant shop work? Could you please give us an update??

Wasn't New Jersey looking for a new slogan? I recall that Joey Trebbiani's "How You Doin'?" was nominated ....

Hey Bob,

I posted the results of my trailer restoration under the thread "Lazarus Arise". You should be able to see the final pics, provided they weren't removed. When my time in the penalty box was over, I found that all of my subscribed threads were wiped clean from my account, so I have no idea what is and isn't there anymore.

Hey all,

I haven't been posting for some time now, because I was in Idaho visiting a lady I met online. She lost her husband to liver cancer last year. We hit it off, started talking on the phone about three hours each night, then she flew here to meet the kids and me. The weekend went well, and we decided to spend Christmas in Boise. The kids love Brooke (that's her name), and she is wonderful with the children. She is the type of person that Sherri would have approved of to take care of the kids. Idaho is a beautiful state, by the way. If it weren't for the fact that I'm still in the military, I would have packed the Sovereign up and moved there.

Long story short, I've decided to postpone Sherri's Cookbook Caravan until June for a couple of reasons. The most important reason is the kids; they will still be in school in March, and getting them time off will be incredibly difficult. Brooke also lived in California with her husband, and since he was cremated as well, we thought about making the trip together to scatter our loved ones' ashes.

In a way, postponing the caravan will be the best, because it will give me more time to plan, and more campgrounds will be open then. I will start a thread sometime soon to get input from the board members about recommendations on where to stay along the way. I figure that during the summertime, more members will be available to go on the trip too.

Hello Frederic

I received a copy of "Sherri's Cookbook" from OreExcella at the Beverly Beach forum rally on the Oregon coast in Oct of 05. Great collection---I use it alot. I even made coppies for some family members and shared the story behind it---what a way to honor---but life does have to go on---sounds like you have that figured out--congrads...

Anyway we live in north centeral Ore. and if you are going to be out this way next summer, let us know. Some of us northwesterners may want to join you for awhile or we may want to schedule (sp?) a weekend rally for you and us.

Bob,

Thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you're getting some good use out of the cookbook. It still awes me that it's getting around the way it is.

Yes, life does go on, though I wasn't planning on finding love again. I am happy, though, that I did. Did I mention that Brooke used to be an Hawaiian Tropic model?

It would be an honor to have you along for the caravan, and I do indeed plan on being in the Pacific Northwest. I've never been to Washington or Oregon, so I'm really looking forward to it; I hear it's beautiful up that way.

Jim,

Check your email. You should be getting the cookbook in .zip format in a few minutes.

Best to ya!

Kathy,

I sent the cookbook to you. I hope you get it. It would seem that certain email providers only allow up to a certain size file to be sent. Jim, it would appear that that is the problem with you not receiving it. If you have another email service, let me know and I'll send it. Rob, I'm glad that you got the cookbook. I downloaded all of the VAP programs. I'm going to burn them on one CD and listen to them, while I drive up to Idaho at the end of this month.

DMC,

Hopefully your email can handle 3.36MB. I just sent it out, so you should get it in a few, after Norton is finished doing its autoscan thing.
