I have decided to take her cookbook and burn it to CD. Flamingo-Kid will be the first to get a copy.

RaChelle, if you would please, once you put it on your computer, make another copy and give it to someone you know/care about. Tell them that it came from a very special woman, who touched the lives and hearts of everyone around her. Have them make a copy and pass it on and so on.

Maybe in time, Sherri's Cookbook will travel across the USA. I am willing to make copies for the Airstreamers on this board, but only in limited numbers, because the shipping in the long run would kill me. Just promise that you'll pass it along to a fellow member who wants it and distribute it from there.

Frederic
Frederic, NO PROBLEM. I'll help you snail mail out some, too, and I have several dear friends who LOVE cookbooks; I can send her book all across the nation. Plus England. And Canada.

I can send it out to the list of Airstreamers I have sold retro kitchen items to on Ebay; some have joined the forum and some have not. I've kept most of the addresses.

I will give my family copies, and JohnHD, if you're showing up on Oct 14th I'll give you a CD. Or I can snail mail it.

Norbert, WHERE are YOU?? Norbert is one of he most FANTABULOUS cooks in the world, even if I didn't really care for his "whatever it was" he brought to Moraine. (I was polite :-)) )

Frederic, I'm glad you've joined our little online family. I hope things are becoming more peaceful to you and the children:-)

That G mail sounds interesting too, but only by personal invitation?

I just emailed the file over to my best friend and "Computer Guru" who I HOPE can open it and give us a good comment :-) He LOVES to cook; and should enjoy the book.

Frank, let us know how it goes!

And Frederic, Sherri's cookbook is on the move :-)

I know Sherri would be blushing from embarassment right about now , but at the same time I know she would be flattered. She was never big on people making a fuss over her; she was more concerned with other peoples' well-being. Let's get this out to as many people as possible. As I told balrgn in my email (and hopefully you got the file okay, Andre), the only request I have is that if a copy is made, title the CD, "Sherri's Cookbook" in her memory. Feel free to tell everyone that she was the most caring, loving, kindheart and selfless person, and everyone who knew her loved her and was blessed to know her.

Sherri SHOULD be flattered, because she made a WONDERFUL collection of recipes.

Did she type up each one of these, herself?

I plan to try several of them, as soon a spossible.

RaChelle,

Many of those recipes were cut & pasted....many were not, and some were fixed by me at Sherri's request. Andre, thanks for the kind words.

volunteer

Frederic, I will volunteer to pass the cookbook on via e-mail.. if anyone wants a copy, they can PM me w/ their email address and off it will go.

It takes a while to download (I use dial-up) but it is WELL worth it.

It's a LOVELY collection.

I have tons of server space. I am sure that I could help with this by making something that people can download or whatever..... Perhaps post them online and make them searchable.

If someone wants to FTP them to me I can start playing with it.
PM me for FTP instructions.

I used to FTP my files to Ebay, in the olden days. I don't remember how, now :-(

Let's ask Frederic if he wants to put them on your server.. I think it's a good idea. He should be showing up fairly soon today.

great idea!! make a website about her and the family!!that would be a wonderful tribute..........but i think fredric may need some help with it...do we have any web designers here? people could then download the whole book or just thier favorites. it could have a bunch of pictures of the family and a guestbook for rememberances. just a thought and my 2 cents....

Hi, Frederic,

I received Sherri's Cookbook from FlamingoKid1.

All I can say about it is wow! I'm impressed at the sheer VOLUME of this collection of recipes. I don't know what I was expecting, but there's layers and layers of stuff to look through, which I have been doing since last night. Not being much of a cook, I almost need a glossary to figure out what some of these ingredients are, but I have a shopping list for some of the recipes I'm going to try out and am off to the grocery store.

Thank you for sharing Sherri's work with us. This is a very special way to remember her.

Lamar

All I can say is WOW! I am so overwhelmed by the positive and kind responses I have received from you all. I'm getting teary thinking about it....this is going to take a lot of time.

Buttercup and Desi, I am at a loss for words to describe the idea about a website to honor Sherri......again, WOW! Great idea.

Lamar, I know how you feel about the list of ingredients. I found some dried things sealed in a bag in the fridge, and I thought they were mushrooms, but they were in fact persimmons.....and, yes, they're still good, LOL....I just don't know what the heck to do with them.

All I can say is that, when the time comes for (this is what I've decided to call it) "Sherri's Memorial Cookbook Caravan", it's going to be one great trip, picking up and dropping off my Airstream "family" along the way, and of course those who want to do the whole caravan with me are absolutely more than welcome!

WOW....I need Kleenex now.

Frederic
