Mystery Solved

Yes it was a spaghetti squash and we enjoyed them until the vine burned up from the heat this summer . We cut them in half and baked face down for 30 minutes. Let cool a bit, scoop out seeds and scrape out flesh with a fork and enjoy, mmmmmmmmm!! Time to get the fall garden going.

Squashes, cucumbers, melons often hybridize with each other and you could get something really strange. Usually they don't taste very good (think melon that tastes like a cucumber) but you might be surprised!

Actually you can in Europe. BBC documented this in the 50's.
