Love the oven, cooktop, freezer and frig! I like to do prep at home before a trip and have fun meals while away.

I going to use mine tonight because the temp is forecast to be in the mid teens and my furnace went tango/uniform at 4:30 this morning.

I only use ours in the winter time. The feeble '69 air conditioner just can't keep up in the summer when you add the heat from the oven to the mix. Honestly, if it weren't for that dilemma, I'd ditch the microwave and stay exclusively with the cooktop and oven. A microwave, to me, is there just to speed up the process. I try to never get in a hurry for any reason when I'm camping. That's the whole point!

how many people actually use thier oven

I would like to use my oven but I can not get an even heat control. If you are going to replace your oven and it works I would love to have the control from it. My oven came out of a 1973 airstream. It has the word Airstream on the control panel and it is a magic chief, If is mounted in the wall between the kitchen and the bedroom. It is not part of the cook top.

We use ours every on trip. Sometimes to make cookies, other times like at Thanksgiving & made a ham in it. On another day when it was raining and we couldn't grill, we made oven BBQ chicken. I wouldn't want to be without it. Ours is the in the wall type like "dghaas" mentioned.

If you have a service manual it has the adjustment procedure for the oven. Ours was off +/-25 degrees before adjustment.

That's about how far mine was off. After adjustment, it now works perfectly.

Confession.

Hi, I would not want to be without an oven and I glad our trailer model came with all three. [cook top, Oven, & Micro-wave] But I will admit that in five years of ownership, we only used our oven once. We pre-cook our food at home and re-heat it on the road. [saves time] Actually we only use our home oven a few times a year. If I baked cookies, I would eat them all, and that could be a problem. I think if there were more than just the two of us, we would use the oven more.

The ovens in the newer trailers are very difficult to light. You cannot have any of the burners on the top lit. You have to sit on the floor, shine a flashlight in at the pilot which is close to the back, use a long wooden match, and have an assistant (or be a lot more flexible than me) hold down the oven valve on the front of the stove until the thermocouple is hot enough for the pilot to stay on. I've tried those butane lighters, but a match works better. After 2 years we are starting to master the damn thing and get it lit within a minute (plus time for all preparations).

It was designed by idiots who apparently have done some design work on Airstreams.

I think I want an oven.. we just have the cooktop. Im going to call the mothership and ask them if there are any instructions to do the install.

I will put it on my wish list.

Boy, you're not kidding. But we still contort as needed, and use it frequently for "short baking" and warming up dishes prepared at home. In fact I think we use the oven almost every time we camp. I like it.

That sounds like you are on your way to becoming a statistic. The furnace does not vent combustion products into the trailer. The oven/Cooktop does.

I had my cooktop and Microwave (which I never used) removed and had an Cooktop/Oven installed. I use my oven all the time. You do have to light the pilot not the thermocouple or temp sensor as some one out there I know has tried.

Hi, Crusty. I hope you meant that you would cook something in the oven to help warm up your trailer, but not use it as a heater; Otherwise I have to agree with thecatsandi. Not safe at all.
