I drink coffee maybe once a week most weeks... less than that ordinarily.

After reading this last few days I have become depressed over not having bought any new coffee paraphernalia. So I bought a new hand grinder for our trip to Florida. I purchased the Lido 2 handheld grinder from Orphan Espresso Design Shop. The reviews were very good and it should work well on our trip to Florida. Now with the new mattress and the grinder we should be ready to go.

At home, a Simonelli machine and Simonelli grinder, but that is too much to carry.

I really like this idea. That'll be next on my list of things I'd like to get. I have always loved the coffee you get from a french press, and I really like the idea of better filtering without losing the oils, and the insulated pot is a great idea.
In the video, which size is that pot she is using? Large?

I'm still a coffee newb - want a simple and easy solution for making my single cup in the morning (6oz I'm good with)
That Chemex looks promising for use. Do you need to grind your own coffee for this? I've never done that.
Maybe just a small electric auto job will do but would be nice perhaps for ease of use
This thread has made me dizzy as a coffee amateur

Pharm,
You can use any store bought ground coffee. Just experiment with the grinds, course to fine, to find the strength you prefer. Most markets will have beans that you can grind fresh in the store.
We have a Coffee Roaster right down the road with a great variety that I go to....'cuz we be snobs and NEED fresh.
You can get everything you need on the Amazon.
Storing your coffee I've found these containers to be the best....plus they look good in the 'Stream. 64oz will store a pound of beans.
Sip happy....
Bob

Based on your quest for the perfect lounge chair you should definitly enjoy the chase for the perfect cup of coffee. I will warn you that it can be alot more expensive then a lounge chair.

Bob I know many will disagree however I think freshly roasted beans beats any supermarket coffee bean.

This thread has been going so long I can't remember if I posted to it or not. So running the risk of redundancy....
This is my current favorite: A collapasble siilicon pour over. Essentially a camping chemex. It uses number 4 paper filters and the clean up is simple - throw away the filter and rinse. I make two or three giant cups with one bunch of grounds. I know it's uncool - but it makes dang fine coffee and our high end stainless french press is gathering dust.
This thing collapses to roughly the size of a hockey puck...

FYI, our friends at Cremazen roast some wicked good coffee - just search for them on Amazon and you'll find all the beans. They really are friends of ours, and no, we don't have any commercial interest in their business - it's just great coffee, roasted in small batches.

Janet: I found out about those collapsible ones shortly after I bought a Melitta "Ready Set Joe" that does basically the same thing without the convenient collapsing feature. At least it rides well sitting side one of the salad bowls in the cabinet so it's not TOO wasteful of space. If I can manage to lose it I'll replace it with the collapsible one.

Mulling over such things gives my mind something to think about in between camping...next trip will not be till April so I got plenty of time to roast on this question
By April I will be lounging with my wife in our perfect chairs enjoying my "perfect" cup a joe

There is no such thing as a perfect cup of coffee. It is a life long quest. Many think we have AS to camp in; it is not. It is to travel around the country looking for that perfect cup of coffee.

Buddy, this thread was made for you. It's a whole box of doggie treats for us tail thumpers at the aluminitis kennel.
Some day we'll tell you about the super secret sub channel threads.
