Ok - sorry everyone. Didn't mean to get off track with the ProPride gag.

The obvious answer is Keurig.

:-)

(Just kidding! )

Funny! Don't even go down the hitch or TV road. I was a French press user until I had a catastrophe while cleaning it. I still can't believe I got wet coffee grounds all over the inside of my Ocean Breeze and still sweep them up on occasion. Between boondocking and my spaz cleaning hands, Chemex works best for me. When I have power, I am a Nespresso girl, in the aluminum finish of course. Must be because I tow with a MBZ.

I hear ya. I have a cheapie cappuccino maker which pressurizes for the steaming milk foam process. I finished making the cappuccino and without letting it sit, pulled the coffee ground handle out and KABLOOM! Coffee grounds all over the kitchen! What a mess! :-)

Mexray- that's what I did. But with the entire bottom of the aeropress being open, the water goes through too quickly for my liking.

Re the aeropress, you used an espresso or finer grind, not a regular coffee grind, right?

I just bring the one from the house, a Technivorm Moccamaster... had this sucker for 15 years and it still makes the best coffee - temp at 185, cone filter ground Guatemalan from Anderson’s in Austin. The insulated carafe keeps the coffee hot for two rounds each x2...

When it dies, it will receive a decent burial with full honors.

This works "every where and every place.

Hot water and instant coffee.

Plus, no pots to clean and no grounds to throw away.

Vote for instant here for now - but that may be because how hectic it can be for me with kids etc....

I have just began to enjoy coffee in the past year of my life - my Mormon family brainwashed me growing up....into disliking coffee - I greatly enjoy a cup 2-3 days per week now a days

I had French press last winter for the first time - I enjoyed it - may at some point try one at home a bit more

Coffee has all sorts of cool lookin gadgets and pots - presses - grinding - it's like it requires a degree

This works well for us! Not sure of the brand of our whistler, but we enjoy the call.

I have a mini-Keurig, works great. But I recently discovered pour-overs and I love my coffee as a pour-over. I just may buy a pour-over funnel and give that a try next time.

I have posted this before but maybe not on this thread.

When boondocking my French press uses too much water to clean. So I used the melita system. Then I found a melita type cone that has a valve on the bottom (recommended on another thread here). Sit it on the table and fill it up with water. Let it steep and when it's ready put it on top of your mug. That opens the valve. It's the best of both worlds.

Bob, many have bought a new and better coffee maker for every year of this thread. That's five and counting, it'll never end.

Should the quest for perfect coffee ever end? Say you're lying (laying?) on your deathbed, and someone brings in a cup of coffee from a percolator, and having never tried it, you find it to be the absolute best coffee ever. Now, you missed out your whole life! Don't you feel terrible? Yes, I think you do...

-Red, not a percolator fan...
