Here is the best 12 cup coffee maker in my opinion. Having lived in Italy for a few years and being married to an Italian, I'm partial to Bialetti. We use this in our house and transfer the coffee to a glass Thermos. We use one of these milk frothers to make the best cappuccino every where we go! Works great, tastes awesome, fast, and it requires no electricity to operate.

Uh, excuse me, but that Bialetti makes six ounces of coffee. Not 12 cups.
That's not even one standard, 8 oz. cup.

Am I missing something? How can you call that a 12 cup coffee maker? You would have to reload that thing all morning long to get 12 cups out of it.

I'd really like to know if I am doing something wrong, but we've got one of those that was used just one morning. It's the wrong thing for someone who wants a mug of coffee.

Yes, I think it's possible you are doing something wrong. You have to click on the appropriate "size" button on the link I posted. The one I'm talking about makes 24oz of coffee. That is 12 2oz espresso cups. I would bet that if you drank one full 8oz mug of espresso, you'd be good for quite a while.

Grandfather, you should try 8 oz from a Bialetti ... you'll be able to post 10 times a minute afterward.

Cuisinart...no caraffe needed! Makes and holds 12 cups of the dark elixer and uses a gold cone filter. No caraffe to break, no filters to store. Just put your cup under it, press the button and presto!

Cuisinart coffee on demand...$99 at Bed Bath & Beyond. It's got a charcoal water filter in it too. I drink alot of espresso but this thing makes great coffee...I recommend Peet's. :-)

Today we received our 1st Airstream trailer-warming present from our daughter (who works for REI). She sent us a really cool 32oz. REI French Press which is a vacuum-insulated, double-walled stainless-steel carafe. We previously used a glass Bodum French Press or a small coffee maker (when hooked up to power). This blows them away by far as we will have enough for the first cup of the morning and some for later that will stay hot!
